My comments in red. The choice of which option to use is up to you. Any of these will work.

Quick note... if you're planning on becoming a CPA, you'll want to check with your state's requirements for it and if CLEPs/DSSTs, etc. will be valid. Some states, care, others don't. Be sure to check into that.

Can219 Wrote:6 semester hours advanced level acct business elective ( need 3 credits) If this means upper-level accounting or business elective the HR Mgmt, Money and Banking (yes, really), OB and MIS DSSTs are all pretty "soft" imo as is the Sales Mgmt TECEP. The Advertising TECEP is pretty easy too but there are far easier ways to get upper-level business credit.

Definitely cheaper and faster. A course at TESC can run you about $700 while only less than $300 at PF. A PF course can be finished quickly depending upon how much time you want to devote to it, while at TESC you follow the traditional schedule of a certain number of weeks. However, just make sure that the PF course you're interested in is still approved by ACE and accepted by TESC before you sign up for it! Also, don't ignore Straighterline. As critical of their proctor changes as I have been, they do still offer a couple of courses that might interest you for a degree at TESC. SL's Managerial Accounting transfers as Cost Accounting at TESC, and SL's Financial Accounting probably also transfers as an UL course though I'm not certain on that one.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to contact NC's accounting board to make sure they will accept a degree made up of CLEP, DSST or Straighterline classes. Just want to make sure.

I know all of these, but SL now has a new course called Financial Accounting. It's not clear to me yet what TESC will transfer this class as. The ACE National Guide recommends 3 LL credits, but then also says the same about SL's Managerial Accounting which TESC accepts as an UL course.
