CONGRATULATIONS!!!! The 1st exam is always the hardest because you don't know what to expect. 66 is a great score.
After every exam I am sure I failed until I press that submit button. I just feel like I didn't know the answers. Yes sometimes questions are stated in a wierd way, you have to stop and reread it to be sure you know what they are really asking.
Now set up your plan and leave More time for study you can never study too much in my book .

Fantastic! Getting that test behind you is a great feeling, isn't it? My experience is the same as Linda's. I passed every test I took , but I promise that as I was going through every one, I had no idea if I'd passed and pressing that submit button at the end, I always had a feeling of dread that a fail was about to pop up. The tests just word the material differently, but if you've put in the study time and have a familiarity, you'll get through it each time. The only exception was the one ECE I took. That format is great. I wish I'd taken more ECE's; the wording was clear for the most part, and in line with the study material so I could tell from the question if it was material I knew, or if it was something I'd skimmed too broadly and was in guessing territory.

I'm so thankful for everyone's kind words and support. This forum is awesome!
I hope that feeling of dread won't be there on future tests...
What are ECE's? I have to figure out how I'm going to choose which tests to take because the counseling office of my school has offered no help unfortunately.
I'm going to have to rely on this forum!
Thank you all,
Eric

Don't forget about DSST tests. They have some upper level credits.

They are credit-by-exam tests offered by Excelsior. It's one of a few ways to get upper level credit through testing. TECEPs are also available for similar or same course types and upper level credit, but they are in paper form administered by random proctors and take a few weeeks to get graded, while ECEs are proctored online and graded within a day or two.
DSSTs are also referred to as DANTES exams, and some will be worth upper level credit.
CLEP exams are generally introductory courses, but great resources for fulfilling general requirements.

DegreeEric,
Congratulations! That was a great score.
Where are you enrolled? It you're not planning on attending one of the Big 3, STOP. Unless you want to spend money unproductively, do not take an exam for which your school will not give you credit. Usually the specific exams - which CLEPS, which (if any!) DSSTs, etc. - are listed in the school's catalog. Many of us chose one of the Big 3 'cause of their policies regarding those (and other) tests. Most schools are not as liberal in their acceptance policy.
If you're attending one of the Big 3, then this forum is a very good source of information on what has (or hasn't!) worked for us. Remember, however, that until you are enrolled in a school, its policies can change - and often in ways that make obtaining the degree you're seeking harder.
Again, congratulations on your score, and good luck with any future exams.

Eric,
Congratulations! Great score, especially for the first exam!
Now research and plan out the rest of your exams. This forum is a wealth of knowledge, and we are always happy to help and provide advice.
As LaterBloomer mentioned, be sure to check the credit-by-exam (CBE) policy of the school you are attending. Policies and exam acceptance vary widely between universities, colleges, and even degree programs, therefore you want to be sure to take exams that you know will be accepted into your degree program at your school.

I am registered at San Diego Mesa College and attempting to then transfer to San Diego State University. Unfortunately I learned that transfer guarantee does not apply if you get any credits from outside San Diego Mesa College (CLEP, transfer credits, ect.)
I still however want to get as many credits as I can, as fast as I can. I have 22 credits from San Diego Mesa college and now 3 from CLEP! I'm trying to figure out how to get FEMA or Aleks math credits and then get them to my school.

Have you looked at both schools' policies on CBEs? They're probably posted online. If they're not, then ask someone.

Yes both schools do allow CLEP although DSST is not accepted by San Diego State. There is unfortunately no information regarding ALEKS or FEMA anywhere. I'm thinking the way would be to get FEMA and ALEKS credits transferred to a school that does accept them, and then transfer them from there to my school.
I don't exactly know how to figure this out because honestly nobody at San Diego Mesa college can answer any questions.
