My best option for an Art degree

I'm beginning to look into the best college for an art degree (studio type art) and so far, it looks like TESC is the way to go. EC doesn't even offer a degree like this and COSC does have the concentration thing, but I'm not sure I like their name very much. I just want to finally get this degree (should have done it 30 years ago, but that's another story) so I don't care for extensive courses that I would have to take. Which one would be easier to obtain the degree from? As I type this, I'm thinking TESC would accept my life experience PLA much better than COSC. I have taught art for homeschooling students for 3 years and have a drawing portfolio.

Does anyone have any experience with obtaining an art degree from either TESC or COSC? I'm sure I won't get many posts on this, but wanted to ask anyways...you never know.

My dear friend is doing her degree in art at TESC. I gave her all the info on the school(she never heard of it) and she is now enrolled to finish. I was going to do it myself (before she even started) but I thought that Humanities would be a better choice. Also in my painting class a woman that has credits from all over the country will possible be getting her degree in art at TESC. She has alot of graphic design credits and they all go under that degree. All she needs is art historys and a few gen eds and she will be good to go. Pretty painless for the both of them. Now at COSC they have a degree in studio art. I have looked into grad schools and the studio art thing is what they are looking for or a BFA. The grad school is a MAT. Hope this helps.

Yes, Humanities is an option too, maybe even Liberal Arts. Hmmmmm.

I want the Art degree because:

1. I want to be able to say that I actually finally did it! (I'm pushing 50 and have always felt that I missed the boat.)
2. I would like that extra something on my resume to be able to show homeschool co-op leaders that I actually know my stuff.
3. I don't expect to make a living at this, just 'extra' income for my family.
4. My walls are in need of some new decor.

What are the advantages of a Humanities' degree for you? I'm thinking maybe it doesn't matter in my situation. Of course, situations do change!

For me Humanities works because it takes all of my art, art history,architecture, phil, and lit classes and rolls it into one nice little package. It also makes it some what more open for me. I am not just pigeon holed into art. You can take alot of your art classes at your local CC if they have them available.
