I was reading through the notable alumni from TESU on Wikipedia and came across Arthur C. Brooks. He went from this:

to attending TESU (BA), then Florida Atlantic University (MA) and then Pardee RAND (PhD). And now he's a professor at Harvard:

This is cool! Some numbnuts several years ago said that TESU graduates never go on to high-level or prestigious positions, and they couldn't get into high-ranking graduate schools.

<gasp> It wasn't me! - I agree it is cool, a few Big 3/WGU graduates have gone to top ranked schools in various fields. I'm just looking through that window as I haven't stepped into that front door yet. I guess, I'm waiting my turn if it ever comes...

That's so true, many start from small colleges and work their way into the better/bigger and more recognized schools. With that initial Associates and/or Bachelors, it'll lead the way to graduate school opportunities...

I ALWAYS tell people to spend as little money on their bachelor's as possible, if they want a grad school degree. Save your money for that.
One of my daughter's friends had $150k in her 529 plan. She wants to be a nurse practitioner, so she has a lot of schooling to complete. She got accepted into many schools for her BSN, but ultimately chose to live at home and go to the local 4yr state school for it, and pay about $28k. That leaves her a big chunk to go wherever she wants for the MSN. Much smarter than paying $100k to go to her first choice, a private school 90 minutes away - she figured out that the MSN was the ultimate goal, and that the BSN was just a step along the way to that.

It means he finished his first BA at 30 years old, and PhD at 34 years old.
He started his first teaching career at Georgia State University at 34 years old and was appointed as professor at Harvard at 55 years old.

Yes, there are a few people on this forum that have gone from the Big 3 or CBE's into "better known" grad schools... People start from small beginning and work their way up and that's an amazing accomplishment for many. For myself, I am looking to follow their footsteps, I don't think I'll go into management or teaching though, but yeah...

And guaranteed, that numbnuts' (well-phrased and deserved!) accomplishments are nowhere near those of Dr. Brooks. Don't panic, "Numby!" I hear Taco Bell is hiring!
