Hi...Here's my TESC Homeland Security Roadmap:
BSHS Roadmap
Please take a look and feel free to give me any feedback, comments or criticism.
I may be off on a few of the classes that I have listed as complete.
First, I'm debating on whether to take the CLEP English comp exam or or hold out for straighterline.com to put up their English 102. I suspect Straigherline would be a little easier. If it Take the CLEP I plan on using the English 101 to fulfill a general education slot.
Second, does Business Statistics fulfill a general education requirement? And will Statistics for the Social Sciences fulfill the Research Methods in Social Sciences requirement?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Does TESC accept Straighterline courses? I thought I read that an advisor said they didn't. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

I thought there was an update on one of the threads in the last few days which confirmed TESC accepted someone's straighterline course.

JB, what do you plan on doing with the Homeland Security degree? I'm "majoring" in that as well (CJ with Homeland Security Emphasis) at EC. I'm mostly getting mine because it interests me. I plan on going the Masters route (maybe Computer Forensics) after I complete this.

I work for Customs, so it is related to my career field. I figure this degree can help with some career goals and I would like to get a Masters eventually.
I would like to teach part time when I retire, so I'm not sure if a Masters in Homeland Security would work for me or not. I live in a very rural part of the country, so there isn't any colleges nearby. I'm not sure where I will eventually end up, but a Criminal Justice Masters may work better for me in the long run.
I'm not sure how much demand there would be for instructors in Homeland Security.

Learflyer Have you been able to find other sources to meet the Area of Study requirement from schools other than TESC? Also how far along are you toward completing your degree?

I go to EC, and i'm only 3 cleps (9 credits) into it right now. I have about 70 or so credits to go. I'm not enrolled yet. Just trying to knock out my Gen Ed's before I enroll. I hope I answered your question?

The Research Methods in the Social Sciences might be able to be met with the ECE Research Methods in Psychology. Also, Cultural Diversity in the U.S. might be met with the ECE Cultural Diversity.

Has anyone taken the capstone course? I'm wondering what it would entail and if a practicum could be worked into it.
