I still have not taken the TECEP. I have postponed it at least a half dozen times now  The practice questions have me scared, but I've got to give this a try. I plan to finish the textbook today and take the exam. I should know the main content of the top recommended textbook, so why shouldn't I (at least) barely pass? I will have gone over the details for every main topics too. I'm bad with memorization, but I can't believe this one has me so worried.

I'm sure that the other TECEP will be much simpler for me.

Edit: I wish I had not signed up for this TECEP, but I am learning a lot. I should have done this one early on. I guess that all the other finance courses did not teach me much about Institutions or Markets! I had no idea there was so much to know about them. The textbook is 674 pages not including back material. I have to believe I will pass, as I'm not sure I have ever failed a multiple choice exam, but I really wish that this one had some essays. I wonder if I should have used the other textbook instead, but this one (Mishkin) was listed first. It does seem pretty good. If I do fail, I might not retry this one. I guess some of it seems to be economics. I felt like I did know a lot about banking, etc before this, but apparently I did not!

Edit: If I weren't so close to the end, this particular exam might have been my downfall. I'm hoping that their actual questions are maybe easier than the sample questions, but I've heard they are not. I'm not sure why this is particularly hard for me. Actually it's not, I'm just feeling like the wording of the questions and answers can be quite confusing, more than economics exams! I don't really know why it's coming across this way to me. I decided to take this today no matter what.

It's finally done! I passed that TECEP. I felt it was pretty challenging, and I'm glad I studied so much. I felt confident during the exam, but scored around 10 points lower than I expected to. There were some key concepts that if you knew them, you could get 2-4 questions right. But I felt some questions were pretty specific and you would have to read that detail from the book (or whatever resource). I am glad I had read those details, because I might not have passed without that kind of question. I knew quite a lot from the book, but there are a few concepts that I still get mixed up, or things I didn't memorize. I know that the econ teacher here didn't find this hard, but I did. Although I still wish I had done some easier exam, because I was pretty stressed by this, I learned so much, and I'm guessing that 30% of my next exam will be material I learned for this one.

For my last TECEP, I just realized today that I'd need to take it on Sunday, if I want a retake opportunity for it. I don't think I'm going to rush and take it on Sunday, because I think this one will be much easier. I don't know whether to do the CSU-G exam last or the TECEP last.

I finally realized, if I had taken the other TECEP first, this one would have been building on that, and not as bad!

Well I'm worrying about the next TECEP, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, now that I looked into it. The first book is 800 pages and the other book is 1000. I feel that I know a lot of the material from the (shorter) textbook already, perhaps 70%, however, when I look at the practice questions, they seem tricky to me. I can't handle doing as much studying as I did for the last one. It seems like I need a better plan besides learning what's in one textbook. The Study.com course material seems too simplistic. I feel like these questions might not be written based on either book, and I thought that about the other exam. I don't tend to have problems with exams.... when the reading material teaches what's on the exam. Or maybe it's me and the Finance concentration.

Edit: I don't think I'm going to read the suggest textbook much. I'm going to use a variety of sources this time.

I finally took the CSU-Global exam in Funding for Small Businesses. This was my first CSU-Global exam, and I plan to take another with them later this year.

I had forgotten it had some short essay questions. That is a good thing, but it takes more effort and time during the test, and I wish I had remembered in advance so I wasn't so tired. I had 95 multiple-choice questions followed by 5 short essay questions. I normally like to do essay questions first when I am less tired.

That also means waiting for my score. I hear they usually score within a few days. 

I knew most of this material in advance, so I'm sure I passed, but during the exam, I realized after submitting that I had 2 multiple-choice questions wrong. CSU-Global doesn't let you change answers after you move onto the next question, which is a little annoying, because it has to submit to the server in between every question.

I got a little unlucky and had proctor/technical issues for a while, so that's why I was tired. I guess it wasn't Examity's fault, but I was a bit annoyed with the person's accent and not being as patient as I think they should have been.

The exam content itself was pretty easy if you already know Strategic Management basics, corporation basics (C Corps, LLCs, etc), if you had 1 or 2 accounting courses, and know basics about loans and equities/equity-based funding. I am glad I studied some however. I had a decent score on the practice exam and was tempted to go in cold (based on my past courses), and may have passed without studying, but I learned some interesting things, and don't have doubt about passing.

I got that ASNSM-CS situation resolved, so I should be taking a Saylor exam soon toward that. Then my final Finance TECEP, which I probably won't until the 12th-15th so I have a number of study days.

I took my first Saylor course. It was BUS 206 which counts as a LL CIS course which counts in my ASNSM-CS. I overstudied, but I found their free online book to match my learning style. I already knew around half the info, but found the other half interesting. I'm glad I know the history and other details. It's sort of basic stuff, but helped me fill in numerous small gaps in my knowledge. I'm glad I took this one before Software Engineering because I think that will be easier to study for, having this foundation, and knowing what Saylor is like.

Although I could saved some of my time and energy toward the TECEP!

I have been planning to take an extra Saylor course for my CS degree, and I definitely will. I also want to take a couple other misc courses which I don't need for any reason, because of how I liked learning through their site. I'm scared to do Business Statistics though (even though I did ALEKS Stats). Theirs is apparently Quantitative Analysis which is different. Someday, I would like to do their Business Statistics when I have less going on.

Just one TECEP left, which I plan to take the 13th-15th if I can, or possibly the 16th.

Saylor is very much a mixed bag. The courses that have a single online textbook as the main content i found to be pretty decent.

It's been a week and I just realized I never send my CSU-Global transcript. I'm glad I remembered now.

My ACE transcript was received by TESU the next day, but it hasn't been looked at yet. It's only been 3 days though

I don't like that I still have a TECEP left. I thought I would be able to study today, but I guess not.

I would have relaxed so much more if I'd known TESU takes this long with applications. I was so stressed and it kept me from working on the TECEPs!
