Hello Degree Forum,
My name is Thomas Debia and I am 22 years old, and have just completed 2 years community college with a focus in Biology for Transfer AS-T Major.
I have decided to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration – Management & Leadership Concentration through UMPI online, and am very lost on where exactly I need to start as I have college courses and AP courses to use. And I do not know what courses UMPI will recognize and how many credits it will count towards.
They are as follows:
American River College:
POLS 301 - Intro to Government: U.S.
MATHS 73 - Support for Trig for Calculus
MATHS 373 - Trigonometry for Calculus
CHEM 310 - Chemical Calculations
MATHS 72 - Support for College Algebra
MATHS 372 - College Algebra for Calculus
ENGWR 301 - College Comp & Literature
SPEECH 301 - Public Speaking
MATH 400 - Calculus I
TAFILM 307 - Diversity in American Film
MATH 401 - Calculus II
PHYS 350 - General Physics
CHEM 400 - General Chemistry I
PHYS 360 - General Physics
CHEM 401 - General Chemistry II
BIOL 400 - Principles of Biology
BIOL 415 - Intro Biol Diversity/Evol/Ecol
AP Exams:
2019
AP English Literature and Composition - 3
AP Psychology - 4
2018
AP English Language and Composition - 4
AP Spanish Language and Culture - 5
AP United States History - 3
I would appreciate any and all help to let me determine which steps I need to take and where I'm at in the UMPI curriculum at this point in my academic career. If necessary I will be able to mail all transcripts proving grades and test scores upon request.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Thomas Debia.

@thomasdebia, Welcome to the board, you have the template completed, but the addendum is missing. It's great you already know the degree you're looking for, have you looked at other posts or the WIKI for the degree plan? You can transfer a max of 90 credits into the UMPI degree programs... I highly recommend completing the last post addendum just in case you can help paint a better picture of your overall situation: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

You have a ton of credits (and why ARC made you take English Comp when you already had 12cr of AP English I'll never know), and all of your GEC done except the hands-on art course, so you're good to go there (tons of lab sciences, Spanish, all of it).
All you need to take is a few Sophia courses to make life easier before enrolling:
Intro to Ethics
Intro to Business
Financial Accounting
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Business Communication
You are left with 17 courses to take at UMPI, which is a lot, so then you need to decide if you want to take ~5 courses at SDC in order to possibly finish in 1-2 terms.
ACC 301: Applied Managerial Accounting
BUS 303: Management Information Systems
BUS 304: Leading Organizational Change
BUS 209: Mentoring & Leadership Development in the Workplace
BUS 306: Strategic Human Resources Management
BUS 309: Digital Marketing & Advertising
BUS 307: Leadership & Organizational Behavior
BUS 312: Advanced Operations Management
You have to take 10 courses at UMPI, so don't take so many at SDC that you're not left with 10 courses, but other than that, it's up to you how you want to do things.

Good! Because you have labs, you don't need any further sciences. You've already got Spanish, too. So just follow what dfrecore outlined and you should be good to go.

@thomasdebia, I would recommend maxing out the transfer credits with known providers, create a spreadsheet of the requirements and map your remaining credits... You should also reference the WIKI plan for courses you can take at Coursera, Sophia.org, Study.com, etc: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:UMPI

Hello everyone,
Shortly after applying and being accepted into the University of Maine at Presque Isle, I was given a list of all the remaining classes I'd need to complete the degree I wanted to attain above:
Geo 101 Intro to Human Geography or Soc 100 Intro to Sociology
Bus 200 Intermediate Business Computing
BUS 220 Managerial Accounting
BUS 244 Management Information System
ENG 151 Intro to Literature
BUS 240 Change Management
BUS 330 Marketing Management
BUS 353 Legal & Ethical Environment of Business
BUS 260 Leadership
BUS 321 Human Resource Management
BUS 325 Financial Management
BUS 440 Business Analytics
BUS 415 Operations Management
HUM 103 Creative Decision Making or ENG 211 Creative Writing
BUS 335 Organizational Behavior
BUS 469 Strategic Professional Communication
BUS 489 Business Policy & Strategy
And a business elective at the level of 300 or higher.
My question is, can any of these classes be taken at CLEP, Sophia, Study.com or elsewhere? Or do all of them need to be taken through UMPI?
Thank you all for your help and responses, I really appreciate it.

Hey thomasdebia, You're welcome! And your question has been answered in the post #8 of mine. As I mentioned in that post, reference the degree plan WIKI and it'll show what classes can be taken in place of the ones at UMPI... You may also want to re-read the entire thread just in case you may have missed anything in other posts or for review.
