1 More Free Elective (Not sure yet)

Total credits from online/guided study courses: 48

As part of the Information Systems portion of this degree, TESC requires 3 credits in "Systems Analysis and Design". I'm not exactly sure which course covers this, so I chose Network Technology (CMP-354).

Any improvements or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

First off, in relations to any Free Electives. TESC accepts FEMA credits as Free Electives. Your choice of major allows 18 credits of Free Electives. FEMA credis are 100% free, and frankly you're an idiot if you pass them up.

Besides that, I suggest you study for CLEP Info Sys & Comp App; as well as the DSST Management Info Sys. That should take care of a few items.

Others will have information more in depth than myself But don't overlook FEMA for all you Free Elective needs.

I'm passing on the FEMA credits because I'd like to have at least 48 credits of actual coursework. I find general-ed classes to be extremely boring and I'd much rather test out of those than the free electives.

I wasn't planning on taking CLEP Info Sys & Comp App or DSST Management Info Sys, because I might pursue a graduate degree from a state university when I'm finished. State universities seem to have stricter admissions requirements than for-profit schools. I don't want them to deny me admissions just because I CLEP'd out rather than took the courses that pertained to my major.

That's right Rusty...tell us how you really feel!!!!!!!(LOL) hilarious Hello good buddy!!!

Hello Retake and welcome to IC!!! I just wanted to comment on a couple of things.

First, about graduate school. Many (but not all) schools will require you to have at least 60 graded credits along with GMAT to be admitted to a graduate program. That would leave you 12 credits shy. (Just something to keep in mind).

Second, I would look into 2 or 3 graduate programs (or as many as you'd like) and ask them what their admissions requirements are (for future reference). I don't know if money is an object to you or not but I would try to save as much money as you can by testing out of as much as you possibly can; especially if it's not going to hinder you from gaining admission into a grad program.

Lastly, I have attached a copy of a sample degree program (BSBA) that I use. I found the format to be helpful and motivational to me. Of course you will tailor it to fit your BSBA in CIS program of course. The font should be "black" for the degree plan and when you complete a course/exam, change the font to blue (or your color preference) so you can see at a quick glance which ones you've finished.

Watch your face start to light up when you start seeing more blue than black!!!

Hope this helps and good luck on your educational journey.

Peace be unto you.

From a loyal degree seeker,

Marshall

P.S: Everyone is welcome to use the attachment if you find it useful.

If you're taking coursework thru TESC to obtain financial assistance that's fine, but most of your classes could probably be found at a local CC for a couple hundred bucks cheaper than what they would cost at TESC. The only one I know for a fact that you would have to take at a 4-year university is the Business Policy class. I know my local CC (Tidewater CC if you're in VA) has an on-line Systems A&D class and I bet yours' offers one too, whether or not it's on-line, you'd have to see. And it does have to be Systems A&D, it cannot be the Network Technology class.

If you're wanting to get into a highly competitive grad school the more graded credits the better, but I do know of at least one person who tested nearly completely out of his BS in general business from Excelsior and after getting a 700 on the GMAT was accepted into Indiana-Bloomington's MBA program, which is a top-20 program in the country. If I had known about testing out earlier I would've done the same thing. Just something to think about...
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.
