Modern States + Uopeople = Least expensive RA Bachelor's??
#1
I'm not too familiar with either entity, beyond the gist of what they offer. Is it possible to get a bachelor's degree with nothing more than:

1) 90 credits of free CLEP through Modern States vouchers.

2) All remaining credits from Uopeople?

If so, one could complete an RA bachelor's degree for $1,600. That would be, as far as I am aware, the current least expensive RA bachelor's.

Am I correct?

Yes, I pretty much think so, you can get a freebie Associates along the way as well. Here are the calculations:
App fee: 60
Free transfers for 20 classes with ACE partnerships (Modern States, Sophia.org, Study.com, StraighterLine, etc)
Transfer fee for 10 classes: $170
10 classes required for residency: $1600
Total: $1830

Completed: UMPI BAS & MAOL (2025)
TESU ASNSM Biology, BSBA (ACBSP Accredited 2017)

For the UoP Computer Science and Health Science majors there are far more than 10 required courses in each major that have no corresponding CLEP.

For the UoP BS in Business Administration, these likely each have a corresponding CLEP
  • BUS 1101 Principles of Business Management
  • BUS 1102 Basic Accounting (my guess is CLEP Financial Accounting would go here)
  • BUS 1103 Microeconomics
  • BUS 1104 Macroeconomics
  • BUS 2201 Principles of Marketing
this might (there’s a CLEP Introductory Business Law, but it’s typically counted as lower-level)
  • BUS 3305 Business Law and Ethics
and these don’t appear to
  • COM 2001 Professional Communication
  • BUS 2202 E-Commerce
  • BUS 2203 Principles of Finance 1
  • BUS 2204 Personal Finance
  • BUS 2207 Multinational Management
  • BUS 3303 Entrepreneurship 1
  • BUS 3306 Business and Society
  • BUS 4402 Organizational Behavior
  • BUS 4403 Business Policy and Strategy
  • BUS 4405 Leadership
  • BUS 4406 Quality Management
and five business electives; UoPeople’s available business electives are
  • BUS 2204 Personal Finance
  • BUS 3301 Financial Accounting
  • BUS 3302 Consumer Behavior
  • BUS 3304 Managerial Accounting
  • BUS 4401 Entrepreneurship 2
  • BUS 4404 Principles of Finance 2
  • BUS 4407 Strategic Management
There’s a rumor UoPeople is working on a bachelor’s in liberal studies, and that might be friendlier to the scenario of 90 credits in scattered subjects by CLEP plus the minimum 10 for residency.

Well to be fair, I think you should include the cost for the ACE-Credits as well. Sophia, straighterLine, study.com - all are not free.

True, for Modern States, the price is technically what I mentioned if you can transfer in all 90 credits with them into the Business Degree or Computer Science. For Health Sciences, it's a slightly different story for those who need the requirements that can't be transferred using Modern States.
