ACLAS: Is this even legal?
#91
The Saylor MBA is currently being offered to Florida US residents, and students from qualifying countries. Plus all students must get 80% on an entrance exam, so that won’t benefit everyone at this time.

I saw in the FAQs that they will be adding more courses, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out. I’m all for opportunities to advance my skills for free/cheap. Hopefully they will look into accreditation at some point.

"GEOGRAPHIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
For students located in the United States, the MBA degree is currently only available to individuals living in the state of Florida for the duration of the program. For international students, the MBA degree is currently available in all countries except Iran, Syria and North Korea. All applicants must provide a valid ID to verify residency at the time of enrollment." https://degrees.saylor.org/

"To be accepted into the MBA program, each student, whether they have a business degree or not, must satisfactorily pass two courses in the following sequence:
...Students passing the required courses (BUS501 & MBA601) with an 80% or higher score on the proctored final exam will demonstrate an ability to succeed in the MBA program.
There are no exam fees paid to Saylor or anyone for the course or the final exam. The only fee is a proctoring fee to verify student identity, which costs $5 per proctoring session paid to a third party proctoring company." https://resources.saylor.org/catalog/2025.pdf (page 6)

"If a student does not achieve a minimum grade of 80 in any course, they will be permitted two more additional exam attempts up to three (3) total exam attempts." https://resources.saylor.org/catalog/2025.pdf (Page 10)

Free to take, $5 proctor fee
BUS501: Strategic Management https://learn.saylor.org/course/view.php?id=54
BUS601: Financial Management https://learn.saylor.org/course/view.php?id=686
It looks like you can also take the other core courses without participating in the MBA.

Looks like they need to clarify the entry requirements.

Admission Requirements
There are no standardized test requirements. To be accepted into the MBA program, each student must satisfactorily complete two steps in the following sequence:

  1. Entrance Exam: A rigorous entrance exam, taken in a proctored environment, must be passed with a score of 80%. Students must understand and apply key concepts in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Finance, Organizational Behavior, Principles of Marketing, Management Information Systems, Principles of Management, and Operations Management. Study materials, including a course and a practice exam, are available to prepare for this exam.

  2. Course Completion: The prospective student must satisfactorily pass MBA601: Financial Management with an 80% or higher score. This course also grants three graduate credits in the MBA program.

I want to enroll in the college; it had been more accreditation by QAHE and ELQN.

You decide for yourself, you've been a member since May 11 of last year, if you believe it's something you may want... I would take the time to review previous posts and make an informed decision. Good luck, have fun, keep learning...

It has modules that have a quiz at the end. I was able to pass all the quizzes without actually looking at the study materials. So yeah, just reporting a little extra info.

Good job. It is a valid method to verify if some school is indeed real or not, and then  share the results. More people lose money when someone does not step up and confirm the case. You follow in the footsteps of Dr. Pepper.

Operation Dipscam took place in 1980. It was an investigation into diploma mills, and the specific incident involving Senator Claude Pepper, where he jokingly referred to himself as "Dr. Pepper," became part of the probe. Investigators purchased a fake Ph.D. diploma on his behalf from a California-based diploma mill to highlight the ease with which such fake degrees could be obtained.

Thank you for understanding my intent. Maybe I could've worded it better but yeah, this was solely for curiosity. I'm not trying to pass it off as something legitimate and I was highlighting how easy it was to show that it's not even good for general learning either because it can be completed without even studying the materials.
