ACLAS: Is this even legal?
#61
For those who have completed this, which degree did you do? Did you do the undergrad, MBA or DBA, MBA & DBA (both), all three from undergrad to DBA? IEE might evaluate this as equivalent to a grad certificate at the most favorable option, but most likely it'll come in as undergrad certificate level classes for each and every one of these (even the DBA). I wonder what Validential would give you...

So I contacted IEE chat support, asking if I could get a refund because I accidently used the wrong card and they just kept on repeating the same thing, that they only evaluate foreign credentials.

Not that I believe her on this topic that they don't evaluate the school but yeah, the conversation was annoying.

Quote:[Agent]: Sorry for the delay in response as we are receiving a high volume of inquiries today.

[Me]: okay

[Agent]: Thank you for the confirmation Arshveer Cheema. As per checking this is a newly placed order for Education Document + GPA Report for your Master Of Business Administration you earned from Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences here in US correct?

[Me]: yes

[Agent]: Please note that we do not evaluate credentials earned in US.

This is IEE. We are a NACES member and are accredited to evaluate foreign credentials (eraned outside of US) to be used for further study programs in the US to your college or university of choice, or for employment/immigration/military, and licensure purposes.

We also offer assessment of your foreign credentials for Canada with education and employment as purposes.

[Me]: no no

[Me]: you guys have partnership

[Me]: https://myiee.org/university/atlanta-col...d-sciences

[Agent]: Yes we do have partnership with Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. However the credential you listed is from US from the same University.

[Agent]: [image]

[Agent]: Please confirm if you have another credential that you earned outside of US which we can evaluate. Again we cannot evaluated credentials earned in US since they are already in the US grading system.

[Me]: Wait

[Me]: I am not understanding. I literally linked you the partnership sitr

[Me]: It has "start evaluation" button

[Me]: and you guys have partnership

[Me]: So how do you guys not evaluate?

[Agent]: As mentioned we do have partnership with Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

[Agent]: However the credential you listed is from the same college, please refer to the screenshot for the details of the credential you add.

[Agent]: [image]

[Me]: I know the details I added? Are you saying it's not the same college? I don't understand the problem

[Me]: Do I have to email the ceo if you can't help me?

[Agent]: We have reviewed the information you've provided and noticed that your academic credentials are from an institution in the U.S.

We would like to bring to your attention that IEE ONLY evaluates foreign academic credentials.

[Me]: What don't you understand about the partnership to evaluate? That you guys literally have a page for them
After, she asked me if I had a transcript from another school that I wanted to evaluate...

Yeah so I feared that because the chat representative became aware of me submitting a transcript that according to her, they don't evaluate, she'd end up getting my order cancelled which ended up being true

So actually, I only attached the follow-up email I received from the chat representative that I chatted with. I actually received two emails about the cancellation. After that one, I received another.

I responded to that other person and this is the response I just received:

Quote:Thank you for your response and for letting us know of your concern.

Yes, we are partnered with your admitting institution - Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Science. Our partnership with the school is to provide them with the client/students foreign academic credentials evaluated to its US equivalency.

As you were advised, our service is to only evaluate non-US credentials to be evaluated to their US equivalency.

Now, we would like to ask - do you have any foreign academic credentials, meaning academic credentials received outside the US to provide to us so we can help you with our service and evaluate it to be sent to your institution?

So, what the person is saying is that they accept foreign transcripts for the purpose of evaluating to be sent to ACLAS. You know, for admissions.

Although, that does not align with the verification guide provided on the ACLAS site where ACLAS outlines a step-by-step on applying for an evaluation of an ACLAS degree/transcript.

It being only for admission into ACLAS, aligns with what the CEO wrote to Cacoleman:

We provide evaluations for non-us education. The evaluations we provide are for incoming students and has no bearing with regards to the status or recognition of the institutions we provide the services for. We provide evaluations for any institution that requests them, governmental, non-profit, or business. The relationship we have with this institution is to provide the stated service on the landing page you referenced above, much like any other business with a vendor relationship. It’s not a recommendation or endorsement for anyone to attend this institution.

As well as what's written on the landing page:
Receive your evaluation in 3 DAYS or less with IEE's custom application for Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences applicants

I don't know why you were acting so frustrated with the IEE representative. It's obvious that it's you, not her, who doesn't understand the nature of IEE's work, nor their relationship with ACLAS.

They could've clarified that it was for admissions or something? No, instead, despite me like repeatedly asking about and bringing up their partnership, they just kept on saying that they only evaluate foreign credentials. Having the other person copy & paste respond to you the entire chat duration, is annoying.

Again, they could've clarified and stated that they evaluated for admissions.

Quote:It's obvious that it's you, not her, who doesn't understand the nature of IEE's work, nor their relationship with ACLAS.

It's not a me problem.

No one knows the nature of their relationship in certainty. The owner's verification guide and social media posts contradict what IEE is saying. Nobody on this forum at least as per this thread even had any idea that the evaluation is (seemingly) just for admissions.

You want to know what's actually obvious? That the chat representative has no idea of what the relationship is.

If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it. I am researching in hopes of helping and enlightening others. Weird that you choose to see bad in this, just shows your mentality.

Keep disagreements focused on the topic and not on a fellow member, everyone.

I did the MBA and just ordered a Validential evaluation. Although, it might have been for Canada, I'm not sure.

Guys! I just got the evaluation back and it was for Validential Canada because it's a US school but I received a positive evaluation!

I knew that it won't be a respected U.S. credential agency issuing this statement. It had to be something similar to CUFCE.
