Master's program at UMPI with an existing UoPeople BS-CS degree
#1
Hello community,

Ì just found out that you can "transfer" courses done at UoPeople to UMPI. -> https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...0Excelsior.

But, does anyone know if you can attend UMPI (I heard they introduced Master's degree with YourPace) Bachelor's OR Master's degree when you already have a UoPeople degree? ( Note: Most GenEd courses were transered from Sophia)

Note: I am 80% through with UoPeople BS-CS degree.

UoPeople is currently NA. As far as the RA UMPI is concerned, a degree from UoPeople isn't a degree. So, yes, you should be fine with getting a Bachelor's degree from them. You would not be able to get a Master's degree because you won't have a degree that UMPI cares about/thinks is real.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

I am sorry, I meant, if you can transfer your current UoPeople credits to your UMPI Bachelor's degree. Or attend the Master's degree at UMPI once you have the Bachelor's degree at UoPeople. Seems like the latter does not work at all.

Yes, you can transfer UoPeople credits to UMPI. You cannot yet use UoPeople degrees at UMPI.

Do you then know if any RA Universities accept UoPeople credits or accept UoPeople Bachelor's degree for their Master's program?

Are you in the US, and what type of master degree are you looking for?

Also, to confirm your objective is to complete your UoPeople bachelor in CS then earn a US RA master degree?

UMPI does accept UoPeople credits. As do Excelsior and WGU. Both WGU and Excelsior accept UoPeople degrees. WGU is only for students in the US, however.

I'm sure there are others, I just don't know them off the top of my head.

Hello,

yes, this is exactly my objective, sadly I am not in the US, if you thought about WGU - which would have been the perfect university for that matter.

I need an RA masters degree, but I am already enrolled in the UoPeople BS CS program, it would be a shame getting a second BS degree. I do not really have so much money for something unnecessary, but I really need the BS degree. I would have cancelled UoPeople BS if I wasn't already so invested in it. Do not want to waste my effort.

I would recommend that you apply to the UMPI master once you have had your UoPeople degree conferred.  There is nothing on their website page that explicitly states they do not accept NA degrees. There was a time here that this forum believed they wouldn't accept the UoPeople credits towards a bachelor (due to NA), but now we know they accept at least some. You have nothing to lose by applying, it is free to apply (aside from sending over your UoPeople transcript). If you do, please keep us posted.

Just transfer the credits and get the RA BS/BA.
