Politics have consumed the off-topic area for almost a year and it is time for change for changes sake. I absolutely love Mark Twain's book's, they are so humorous and yet subtly attack a lot of wrong thinking from his time period. So I thought it would be fun to run a poll and see which of his books you guys liked the best and why.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is not only my favorite Twain book, but my favorite book generally. But my favorite writing of Twain's is his short essay called
Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offenses. He mercilessly carves up the writing style of James Fenimore Cooper, especially his novel
The Deerslayer. It's hilarious.

Gary, mine too. I wouldn't have known about it had I not taken the American Literature CLEP. LOL Of course, it made me want to read the Leatherstocking series

This is a good post. I loved American Literature. It was easily my most "enjoyable" exam. Now if only you could get a great paying job with an advanced degree in literature or history!

I love that too. Really, though, he's such a picky guy. Wouldn't want him reading anything i wrote...
