I planned on taking Contempory Western Europe today at 10am after spending all weekend studying. I forgot I had to go play army this weekend, and consequently didn't get any studying done. So I figured I'd call the testing center when I woke up and reschedule.
I called them up and tried to cancel, and the lady told me my test was at 1pm, not 10am. So I figured I'd wing it and see how I could do. Instantcert didn't have any flashcards, so I picked Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union on a whim. After 3 hours of studying, I went in and tested. I walked out with a 50.
I just wanted to thank everyone who posted in the Specific Exam Forum for Rise and Fall. If not for that, I'd have been soooo hosed. That seriously saved me from failure. THANK YOU!!!!!

Really, I'm also amazed at the number of people who say they take these tests cold. I could only test out of a total of 12 credit hours for my degree, and they were specific core credits so only certain tests applied. I wouldn't take the chance of possibly not passing, so I have studied a minimum of a month for each test, but I've been reading some of these posts and thinking that there are some really smart people out there : )

Hawkeye-You freaking rock-I envy you so!!
BTW-I see in your siggy that you passed American Lit, how was it? I need 2-200 level English to graduate and I don't want to read a whole bunch of novels. Were you already a master at this subject too, or how did you study??

Honestly, I give all the credit to the guys and gals who post their experiences on the Specific Exam forums. The tips and hints I've gotten have been what's gotten me through. The flashcards help a lot, but without the Specific Exam stuff, I really doubt I'd have done nearly as well as I have.
And as far as me being nuts......
