Hello all, quick question...I'm studying for the MIS DSST. Probably gonna take it on Weds. Are the Petersons tests a good gauge for knowledge of the info? I've taken 2 so far and have scored a 43% and 37%. The Petersons tests seem way hard. Thanks for the help!

As far as that particular test goes I am not sure, but for the intro to computing and the information systems and computer apps tests the petersons was a pretty helpful judge. The clep info systems i scored a 57 and on the petersons practice tests I made an average of 60 or higher. On the intro to computing i made a 432 and was making an average of 70 on the practice tests. If you are making those scores you might need a little more work to pass. Are you using any other study material. I know the intro to computing dsst seemed alot harder than the info systems but i wound up getting around the same score. Good luck, hope you do well.

I'm using the DSST flash cards from instant cert. I took the intro to computing DSST without studying and got a 422. I'll go over the flash cards a few more times and see how it goes.

Hey Jeff, strongly recommend anyone subscribing to instantcert reads and digests the specific exam feedback for this test. It really helped. Good luck!

Congrats! Just curious. What's your computer background? It's a test I'll have to take, and I want to guage how easy/tough it is, in part, by testers' backgrounds.

Thanks everyone! I don't have much of a computer background at all. I passed the Intro to Computing clep a while back. Also, at work they tried to get everyone who was on our computer program an A+ cert. I started but never finished. Being in the military, trying to finish a million classes, I just didn't have the time to finish it. Instacert and the Peterson's tests are more than enough to pass this test.
