How do you use the Excel OM to solve MRP problems? For the life of me, I don't understand the instructions on chapter 14 page 574. It mentions using Excel OM. I'm trying to add information from the Master Schedule and MRP worksheets. I went to Excel OM and selected "Materials Requirement Planning" and trying to fill out the first part.

Which AE was that? I looked for my book but I couldn't find it, I must have it in a box.
But if you tell me which AE it is for I can let you know because I saved all my coursework on the computer. I remember I had to ask a question on one of them as well, but everything I did was obviously correct because I only missed a few points for the course.

It's under the instructor's lecture notes on his
website under chapter 14. It talks about building a car and gives examples to fill it out, as well as the homework solutions for Chapter 14 – MRP. I don't know how to input the info in Excel OM.

Ok, I may be wrong and not be of much help here. From what I remember the information you are given doesn't go into excel.
I looked over my work and if I am correct each item that you place into the chart builds on the information before it.
If there is a change in quantity demanded or produced that demand or overstock carries over and must be shown in the chart. I think these are all addition and subtraction.
It has been six months, but just looking at the homework on the website, that is what I beleive happens. I also don't beleive this is an assignment that gets turned in, but I do beleive it is on the exam.

I was able to figure it out. You have to indent from the flow chart on that homework assignment on page 19 the same way on Excel OM to make sure they match. I wanted to see how it worked on Excel to double check my answers. Also, it is so... much after to use Excel OM then inputting all that info on manually. lol
