These classes were actually woefully easy to a point where i can see  certain schools not accepting these credits in the near future

My son completed Project management from Sophia. It was not easy for him at all and he learned a lot. It depends on your prior knowledge and experience. I can add that we love their format. Three members of my family have taken courses with them and we all enjoyed the content and how it was presented. Some of the classes can be frustrating because of the wording of the questions.

you obviously haven't done the college algebra course LOL

what is 74 ?

uh, its 74

no its 2401

what , how did they get that ?

easy -- 7 * 7 * 7 * 7

ugh, does no one proofread these questions ?

or how about spending 3 sections solving for x
and then get an inequality problem
3x 2 +7 <= |5x 3 -6|

wait .. what ??
how the heck do I solve for x with that ?
5 minutes later -- wait .. does that x mean multiplication ?
ARGH !

You obviously haven't read my post completely, especially the part where I said, "There are occasional typos, grammatical errors, and so on".

Thanks for reminding me about the College Readiness Touchstone, I've updated my post to include it.  I'd forgotten about that one, it doesn't really slow you down because there's no requirement to revise and re-submit it.

That was actually a pretty good course.  I'd been out of school for a long time and I found it to be a good refresher.

I have jumped in and started the Environmental Science course on Sophia. First 2 videos were painless and the quiz question was easy. This format - so far - seems easier than the OnlineDegree.com biology course I started and the quiz questions are actually in the material. You also know what you got correct and wrong so that is very helpful.

I have a PDF from CSU Global that shows us which courses are acceptable from who. The PDF is from my Student Success Counselor. I need a science, math (EEEEK!!!), and Comp II. Looks like I have to go with StraighterLine for Comp II. That's the only one accepted at this time. Of course, I could take these at CSU, but they would cost $1,050 each course and then there's number of papers and discussions you have to do. If I can take them through alternative sources and pass them, I am happy to do so. I was just nervous as I have never taken courses like these before. no idea why I was nervous. I am online student for Pete's sake! Thank you for providing great info!

Agreed. I'm mildly dreading stats because of this. But, for the most part, I think Sophia is a great resource for people not wanting to pay $1k per class.

This resonates with me for sure.  I originally selected my degree program specifically because it had a Math/Natural Sciences requirement, so I could avoid math completely.  But when Sophia started the free promo, I ended up taking both Algebra and Stats, thinking I could just dump them if they were too much of a slog.

I was very surprised to find out that with their lesson plan and format, I had no problem completing both courses...and I don't think anybody's more math-averse than I am.  I'd encourage you to try them out.

Today I heard back from my Student Success Counselor and CSU Global does not accept this English class from Sophia. Darn! They do accept the English Comp II course from StraighterLine so that is where I will take it. I will be completing my courses on Sophia first. They're free right now and need to get as much out of that as possible. It would be silly to not take advantage of it.

This is an error on Sophia's behalf. I have the PDF from CSU of what they accept and they do not accept any English courses from Sophia at this time.
