This is an essay in which the author describes his career switch from Accounting to Tech. It's a bit of an eye-opener for me as that's not my world and gives me a view that I don't normally get. Multiple job changes, learning new skills on the fly, mandatory optimism seem to be the basic requirements. I know that many on this board are somewhere in that process. The author makes it sound easy but we know it's not.

Something like accounting and mathematics goes well with a coding career or IT.
There are some people that were English majors or teachers that have gone into coding as well.
Data analysis is more of IT job that may involve working with a database.
It does take a bit of commitment to make a big career switch though all the resources are available online to learn whatever you need to learn.
