Liberal Studies AA
#1
Guys, I asked Jessica to add Liberal Studies AA for me.
She told me whether to choose GEneral Concentration or Business Concentration.
I didn't see that AA divided these two concentrations on UMPI's official website.
Can you help me out?

@Lorvey, It's great you're asking questions, but sometimes it's up to you to decide what would be better. I'm not sure what you're looking at on the website, but it clearly indicates the information, it's not just those two concentrations, there are a few more to select from, the reason she gave you these two is because, your classes fit into either of them. Decide for yourself which way you want to play things...

We can't make the choice for you, it's like asking us, you're buying a car, what color do you select. You decide the color my friend.

Here's an example of how I would do it, pretend I get a Pierpont BOG AAS with an emphasis in Business or Info Systems, I can then choose the UMPI AALS with a concentration General Concentration as I would dump all my arts/sciences into it. So, it'll show I'm working in multiple subject areas, not just business. I believe you're going for a BABA with a concentration, that BA is business already, it'll be redundant having an AALS in General Business. Again, Decide for yourself...

I concur. Please weigh your options and find out what will help you more long term. Once you're locked in with a program, it's game on. Try to take the path that closely aligns with your goals.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about an associate degree. It's rare that one will help with landing a job. Most applications require a bachelor's degree so that's what I'd focus my energy on. Once you have a bachelor's degree, the associate degree won't mean much at all.

That's correct, I would just focus on the Bachelors for now, or if you're close to finishing, focus on getting the MAOL and the courses you can take for the Bachelors towards the MAOL. The Associates is an add on freebie, you just add it and forget it as I always say. The concentration doesn't really matter once you get to the Bachelors or Masters level, it's usually not going to be looked at once you get a Bachelors or higher unless it's in a really unique area of study, I wouldn't usually list it, the utility would be similar to a certificate...
