> Each ticket is $20, not $2.
I guess it depends on which game you play
PowerBall
Each Powerball ticket is $2

Mega Millions
you could put megabucks in your pocket for just $2

NY Lotto
Two Games: $1.00

> Yes really. You lose almost 40c for each dollar spent.
that makes no sense at all
if I spend a dollar and don't win then I have lost a dollar -- not 40 cents
if I play 100 times and lose every time then i have lost $400 not $40
if i play 100 times and win $10 one time then i have lost $90
if i play 100 times and win $1000 one time then i have lost -$900
now yes - if you add the winnings and loses of EVERY person for EVERY drawing and average it out then the average person might lost 40 cents per game
but who cares
because that's not how it actually works out for an individual person
