TESU How to "Lock Catalog"
#1
Hey guys!

I read in other threads about "locking the catalog for the year". How do you "lock a catalog"? What makes a catalog locked in? The Nursing catalog has changed so many times and ultimately has become more difficult, I would love for that not to happen again.

Thanks!!

Cheryl

At TESU, that means you enroll in the school. That locks you in a catalog, and means that they can't change the requirements for the degree.

But, it sounds like you've already done that - so are you saying they've changed the degree even while you were locked in? Or that you have seen changes over time, before you were enrolled?

BTW - why are you doing the RN-to-BSN at TESU, rather than elsewhere? There are TONS of schools where this is an option, many of them cheaper than TESU.

No, I didn't know i wasn't enrolled until I took a course from them. I applied years ago, but never took a course with them so the degree requirements kept changing. I didn't  know I wasn't enrolled all this time. LOL I've sent them some DSSTs, and they have my AAS degree credits, haven't sent over my ACE credits yet, but have a TECEP scheduled for the April term. I had no idea about "locking in", I only signed up for the TECEP so I wouldn't have to re-enroll again.

Also, I live in NJ, so it is reasonable. I looked at a bunch of other programs and they had more GE credits. TESU added 2 nursing courses since I first enrolled, because I wasn't locked in, I screwed up. But aside from the Literacy requirement, I can transfer in everything else.

If you know of another option I should consider, I'm open since I haven't taken any UL Nursing courses yet. Please do share. AllNurses isn't helpful. Too disorganized and commercial with a host of Graduate snobs bashing people for trying to "find the quick way out"

My account actually says I am not enrolled. I asked my advisor and she explained I have to take a class with them first to be enrolled.

cwendy111, if you have enrolled in the TECEP for Medical Terminology and your term is for April, your enrollment will take effect once that term starts, not on the registration date. So, from looking at the calendar, it should be March 30. I would add 10 days to that to be safe, so around April 10 or so you'll know if that TECEP enrolled you.

My advisor assured me I would be OK even though my anniversary is end of March as Registration for the April term is included. Hope she's right.   Big Grin

Nothing else I can do at this point anyway.

March reg is closed.

Update! I am finally officially enrolled in TESU with that 1cr class! Had no idea all this time and I live on this thread. SMH!!!! Oh! I passed the Med Term TECEP. Booyah!! Small victory, but man oh man, the ProctorU set up took almost an hour. I finished the exam in less than half that time.
