ok I was certain that I saw years ago an online LPN to RN program at TESC or Excelsior but I'm not finding either now. I was telling someone I thought there was such a program. Am I remembering wrong or jsut not searching in the right place? She is wanting to upgrade from her current LPN to an RN obviously but her schedule is making it hard to do the RN program at the local college.

Excelsior, here:
Nursing AS Degree / AAS Degree.
I'd describe it as competency-based, including numerous standardized tests, more than "online." There are tests of clinical skills, in-person with nurse educators in working hospitals, that are famously rigorous. There are issues and nuances in Excelsior LPN-to-RN licensure eligibility for license in some states. Excelsior maintains some information here:
State Board Requirements. There's also much discussion of the program on allnurses.com.

You might be confusing LPN/RN with RN/BSN
Thomas Edison State College: RN to BSN Program Requirements
Thomas Edison State College: RN to BSN Credit Distribution
Lower-Division Nursing
The 20-credit lower-division nursing requirement will be satisfied by transfer credit from an associate degree nursing program or by the award of credit for diploma nursing course work.
Upper-Division Nursing
The 28-credit upper-division nursing requirement may be completed entirely by online courses offered by the School of Nursing. Three graduate courses, Advanced Health Assessment, Health Policy, and Nursing Informatics: Concepts and Issues, will be completed by all BSN degree students as part of upper-division nursing requirements. These nine graduate credits will apply to MSN degree requirements at Thomas Edison State College.

Excelsior has an online ADN program. Being an LPN is one way to qualify for admission. They also accept other types of clinicians for admission; however, some BONs will only accept Excelsior grads that started as LPNs.
Here is another online program for LPNs.
