Kepler Mission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So am I the only one stoked about the possibility of this wonderful device detecting Earth-sized planets around other stars? The first solid step towards performing some spectroscopy on the atmosphere of a planet for signs of organic activity indicating life.

I'm SUPER excited about this! IMO, The Kepler Mission is one of the most exciting missions NASA has ever launched. Good news for NASA, especially after the disappointing crash of the Taurus satellite last month. The Kepler is operated from LASP in Colorado--just a short drive from my house, and I'm planning on visiting!

While it is exciting that this mission could give us more information about space, I doubt its ability to find inhabitable planets. In fact, I doubt such planets even exist. Earth is so perfectly balanced, how could there be another planet even half as well equipped?
