Morningside has additional requirements now.

"The courses taken through Morningside College now also require a 3-7 page final case study paper and textbook reading assignment(s). Please see the individual course syllabus and addendum to review the particular requirements for each course."

St. Kate does not require this final case study.

Ahh, I was unaware of the new requirements at Morningside. Still a crazy fantastic deal at St Catherine's! ryoder...I'm looking forward to seeing how this comes out for you!

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Has anyone looked at any other universities (other than St Catherines or Morningside) that offer credit to see what the requirements are? I'm thinking I might be able to use a couple of these as social science at Excelsior.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

I finished my first course, Educational Assessment yesterday and am waiting for a grade on my written assignments. These courses take a bit of time but if you have already done graduate work or upper level undergraduate work you should not have any trouble.
I also got about half way through my second course, Ethics and Safety in Education. This course is basically a how-to guide for teachers not to cross the line with students. Its a bit odd as a non-educator to be reading this material. They say at 10% of elementary school students have been sexually abused by their teachers. That is fricking disgusting.

I'm working on one VESI course, myself. Let us know how it goes.

I am now done with my second course. 4 grad credits in 10 days is pretty good. I could have finished faster if I weren't attending two other schools.

I am pursuing an MA in Professional Dev. from Amberton U. and I would like to transfer in 12 credits from Vesi. I am hoping the others that have been already been down this road can assist me.

Questions I have are:

1. Do I need to register with the credentialing school first, or do I go straight to Vesi and complete the course and then register with the school that will be issuing the transcript-ed grade?

2. I am considering 12 graduate credits and I wanted to find out how many vesi courses can be done at one time?

3. For anyone that has/may be considering Amberton, do you know if all the vesi courses can be applied to their degrees, or should I be looking at specific courses that will meet a certain concentration?

Thank you for the tremendous advice and information that many of you have shared already.

YOU REGISTER WITH VESI THEY WILL SEND YOUR INFO TO THE SCHOOL, WHEN YOU ARE READY TO ORDER TRANSCRIPTS YOU REQUEST THEM FROM THE SCHOOL. Always verify with VESI.

2. I am considering 12 graduate credits and I wanted to find out how many vesi courses can be done at one time?
YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR AS MANY AS YOU WANT, YOU HAVE ONE YEAR TO COMPLETE AND YOU CAN'T REQUEST CREDIT WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF STARTING A COURSE.

MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THEY WILL ONLY APPLY TO THE MA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, BECAUSE IT'S A TYPE OF LIBERAL ARTS DEGREE WITH MANY DIFFERENT SUBJECTS. I'M STICKING WITH THE COUNSELING TYPE VESI COURSES. I HOPE THEY TAKE VESI FOR TRANSFER, I'M COUNTING ON IT. I know one or two old forum members did this route a few years back, hope it still works.

Called the number, paid for the course, got an email, logged in and am now viewing course content.
Each course is worth 2CR of graduate credit and will transcribe through St Catherines.
I have up to a year to complete each course at my leisure. I'll report back my status as I go through the courses.

Anyone have info on how any of the VESI courses are transcribed at TESC?

Thanks for the quick response, bldclot2.
I will let you know how I proceed. I'm hoping that the Professional Dev. degree from Amberton will offer the most flexability at the best cost. In any case I will post the process and the route that I eventually take. Thanks to all Wink
