Just received my graduation letter for june!
#11
Thanks guys. Haha I did beat ya burbuja but I did turn 35 first.
My story is typical. I started at USF here in Tampa in 1994 in the college of engineering studying computer science. I left after three years to pay the bills due to a hot computer job market. I never went back but found out about USFs general studies with an IT concentration. I decided to enroll and fill in remaining credits with clep tests before taking my final 24 credits in the IT concentration which is fully online.
I chose business core clep tests and realized how close I was to a business degree at excelsior with my 100 credits. I did those first six or seven clep tests with speedy prep.com and the REA books. After a while I found this site and instantcert which has better coverage of more tests than speedy prep so I switched over and began as a member on this forum. This whole process started last October and I found the forum around the beginning of December.
The forum helped me to put together a BSBA CIS plan at TESC. I took about four tests in December and finished three straighter line courses. I was on a streak. January was the month of Penn Foster and financial management, systems analysis and design etc. I also picked up a bunch of business dust electives. February I took two tecep tests and finished the degree.

I started my MBA at Northcentral University | Online Degree Programs | Online Learning in March and have completed two classes officially and two others unofficially. I will probably finish all twelve classes within the next six months and enroll in the PhD in business program.

It's been fun and I'll certainly continue to frequent the forum that helped me so much.

Clep101 how did ya manage that one? I would have graduated in march if my advisor knew better about what classes would satisfy the cis electives. I could have taken the network technology tecep way back in January since i know that material cold.

Maniac u da man just own it. Do your thing. Do the right thing. More spike lee nonsense could apply here Smile

I love NCU. It's at your own pace which means really fast for me. There are no surprises either. I can access any class's syllabus any time I like as a student and each syllabus shows every assignment that is required to complete the course. This means that I know what I am getting into with each course I decide to take. There are six required courses in the MBA and six electives. The electives can be multidisciplinary or from a specific course prefix, resulting in a concentration being listed on your transcript. I am planning on the applied computer science concentration but there are many many others.

I have finished two courses officially and have unofficially finished 2.5 other courses. It involves a lot of reading, researching and writing. There is no classroom and typically no tests. I highly recommend it if you like to read and have decent writing skills.
