Age doesn't matter! I'm now 40 and was down to only 6 credits left for the B.S. in Management back in 1999. Military deployments and family drifted me away from it, but now I'm back strong and testing out of my last class.

Next step is the MBA... and I agree with susitna1... it's a big plus and motivator to the children to see the parents pursuing education! I can also play the "Don't wait 20 years like your Dad did" card.

Liberal Arts does have less utility on it's own, however if your goal is to quickly get an undergraduate degree knowing full well you plan to move on to a graduate degree than it can work out well for you. Don't be afraid to call an admissions rep (or other faculty) at the schools you'd consider for your law degree and ask them these questions. You may find they're open to any under grad degree with a good GPA, or you may even find that they put the distance ed degrees at the bottom of the pile. The most telling thing would be to simply take a look at the faculty portion of their website and see what degrees/schools the faculty themselves went to.

How are you going to get accepted into a decent masters program with a liberal arts degree? Masters is for industry, it builds more knowledge onto your specific under grad degree. If you're liberal arts you do not have any speciality, all the knowledge you have learned is very superficial.

i know for a fact that a recent excesior grad was just admitted into ohio state's law school and has completed his first year. their law school is the number one law school in ohio. so it is possible.

I would like to see proof anyway. Since this is an online college it is very easy for people to lie. Even in real life people lie about salary, job title, etc. But I never said it was not possible, it is just very unlikly. Getting into law school from a traditional school is very tough as is. So if you wanted to get into law school from a distance learning or just testing out of bullshit courses, then you can only imagine what your chance is to get into law school.

I do not see how you could get a real criminal justice degree by testing out of classes/distance learning anyway. How would you complete the courses for oral communication or defense? See this is what I mean, it is impossible. These schools that offer these programs are for one not accredited and if they are not accreddited your chance of getting into law school practically impossible.

Let me just clear this up for you. Many MBA programs will accept ANY undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution. For example, the MBA program at the University of Florida (probably considered a 'decent' masters program), accepts any undergraduate bachelors degree from a RA institution. If your undergraduate degree is in Business, you can complete their MBA in 18 months. If it is in any other field, the estimated time to complete the MBA is 2 years.

In addition to UF, Nova Southeastern also accepts a bachelors in liberal arts as sufficient for admission into their MBA program.

First, as far as I can tell, none your posts IN THIS THREAD said anything about ignoring what a school's site says. An I supposed to find and read all of your posts to say something to you in this thread? I would like to see you at some forum where I have thousands of posts and then I'll come back and tell you that I said something on post 120 that you should have read.

Second, it's not useless information. There are plenty of Masters programs available and Nova Southeastern will accept a Bachelors in Liberal Arts as entry into their MBA program. BTW, I CALLED THEM to check.

My grandmother got her BA degree at 50 and her FIRST masters at 62. She is 85 now and I think she has finally stopped going to school.

Let me explain to you:
I work for a state school as a research assistant/teaching assistant. From my experiences the schools have to put guidelines on their site that do not bias any discrimination and that shows equality. The adminstrators are told what to say (basically give you a bullshit reason etc). I believe it has happened before, but it is not likly to happen. By obtaining a liberal arts degree, you are limiting yourself of the chances of acceptance into a graduate program. MBA's are the single most common graduate degree obtained, so it would not be surprising if people have in the past got accepted with a liberal arts degree.

I particully do not see a point in getting a liberal arts degree. When I see a student getting a liberal arts degree, I think hes either just going to college to party and take meaningless classes or hes just lazy and doesnt want to commit to anything.

I am simply getting tired of repeating myself, and I am sorry if I confused this thread with the other thread (which is basically the same bullshit).

I agree Mary! I'm 47 and two-thirds of the way to a Bachelor's degree that I started 24 years ago! Better late than never!

Also, I noticed that you're taking Organizational Behavior on August 6th. I'm hoping to take that on July 31st, so I'll let you know how it goes and what to expect.
