Haven't watched the video, but I've heard bad things about Java for years. Some of its biggest strengths (not being a fully compiled language, cross-platform use) are some of its biggest weaknesses. Later languages don't have the same issues.

I personally hate Java it is not friendly like Python, I think there is to much language out there to do the same thing but if I have to choose I do take Python and C language and next HTML5.

JS in God Tier is a bit much, but otherwise i don't think his rankings are too far off. Not much of a JS fan, but I agree it is a solid, top-tier language.

Although, it's been forever since I did anything with PHP -- but I don't remember it being THAT awful.

Below trash is PHP, according to the video however PHP does have its place.

Why PHP is a good programming language
1. Easy to learn, easy to code in, and well documented.
2. Popular since WordPress and 79.8% of websites use PHP.
3. Lot of freelancing jobs for PHP developers.
4. Min server requirements and can be used on shared hosting.
5. PHP has a large ecosystem of apps, frameworks, libraries, and plug-ins for nearly any type of web project you need to create.

Surprised he mentioned HTML and CSS without talking about SQL.  (would code in category)

Command prompts as a programming language would have been funny. What tier would that be?

COBOL is an old programming language, and you be surprised some colleges still teach this language since there are some government jobs available locally. Also, trash Java needed a friend,  so they decided to teach COBOL with Java. Lol.

COBOL is useful for people that think it would be fun to strip naked and jump inside a thorn bush.

IIRC, US military also still uses COBOL for at least some of its systems. Civilian contractors may need COBOL familiarity in order to work with them. I think that there may be a few industries that still use COBOL, too, but less commonly. On the one hand, finding such a job can be near impossible. On the other hand, I hear they usually pay really well because nobody has that skill these days.
