Need advice
#1
Hi Everyone,

I need a science to fulfill three credits. I am going to take Biology eventually, but found out last night after I spoke to my academic advisor that I cannot get another 6 credits for Natural Science since there is too much overlap with Biology, so I will only be able to glean 3 credits from NS. So number 1: I'm not sure I should go ahead and even bother with NS after Bio. Need advice on that. Perhaps I should just look to another (easier) exam?

Number two: I will then need 3 more credits outside of taking Bio and NS (if I decide to take NS). I need advice on what to take. I can take American Government, US Histories, World Civilizations, and things of that nature. Can someone advise on what would be the best exam to take? CLEPs are my only option, as my local community college does not offer DSST.

My gut feeling is to take American Government, then Bio, then NS.

Any thoughts?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

I think American Gov't would be a good choice, especially if you've ever been involved politically and are familiar with the workings of government. Whatever you do, avoid the Western Civ. stuff if you're looking for something easy. Western Civ. I is awful. Western Civ. II is a little better...but American Gov't would be easier.

Do you have a military base somewhere near you? Have you tried a google search?

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I will go ahead and study for American Government then. It seem to be the "easier" option, although it doesn't seem any exam is easy.

To my knowledge, there is no military base where I live or anything close that offers the DSST exams. I did a Google search and came up with zilch. Sad

Moravian College used to give paper and pencil DANTES exams once a month.

It's too bad NCC doesn't offer them. They have the best testing center I have ever dealt with for CLEP and outside proctored exams.

The DSST Program : Students & Adult Learners

Here is a list of colleges that accept and administer DSST. According to the PA listing, Moravian College does administer them.

If they do not, I'm sure there is a testing center within driving distance. It may be 60 miles or so, but what can you do?

Hopefully this helps.
