Is the TESC MS in Management worth it?
#1
I was thinking about getting my MBA, but since TESC doesn't offer it, do you thing the TESC MS in Management is close enough? I work in IT, so I don't need the MBA but it is recognized more than anything else in business. If not, what online MBA programs do you all recommend?

It really depends on why you want the degree and what you plan to do with it.

Since you're in IT, how would you use a MBA? Or a MS in Management for that matter?

Well I'm headed towards the IT management side of things. I work in a Financial firm that puts a lot of value on education. So to move up the ladder it would help.

I got the bachelors degree for job security and the masters would be for job advancement I guess.

If you're in a financial company, I'd say go the MBA route for sure. I think you'd be able to bring more to the table with that kind of education and you'd be a bigger asset to the company.

Will they pay for your grad school?

They do help. I think 5k per year. I haven't really lookd into cost yet, but I bet it's more than that. What seems to be the popular choice for online MBA since TESC doesn't offer it?

I was in your same predicament. I found a couple of quality MBAs here:

Best Buys MBA AACSB-- GetEducated.com, LLC Online Degree Clearinghouse

I applied to the UHV, which has everything I was looking for. I am still in the process, I don't think I will start with the Spring class, but is still possible, though after second thoughts, I might wait until the next term, which is Summer.

Good luck!

Thanks! I'll check it out. I'm not in a rush, but I think I shouldn't wait too long since I am already in school mode. Good luck to you too.

That site was very helpful. The SUNY option could be great with the low tuition. I wonder how hard it is to get into these schools knowing I did a bunch of CLEP and DSST.
