Same. I am trying to bootstrap a business and it's taking a lot of brain-space. Haven't signed up for a single class since I started lol.

Have you guys heard of Aric W. Hall? This man has (I think) 19 associate degrees and an armload of certifications. He also has several Bachelor's & Master's degrees and has completed a doctoral program ABD.

Regarding his ABD from Capella University:
Quote:I was removed from the program by professors who wouldn't honor university deadlines or respond to my dissertation proposal draft document.
Given that it's Capella, I'm sort of inclined to believe him.

Here's his explanation: "I have 18 years experience in fighting organized crime - police, military, corporate, etc. - and therefore cannot be employed."
Make of all this what you will, I guess. When he wasn't studying for his 20-odd degrees, he was busy filing lawsuits, e.g one against the Civil Air Patrol and another against the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Lawsuits - yes, they get attention - but not the kind you need to land a job.
I just realized, there's another thread about him here: http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...gly-3.html

My latest obsession is opening divisions for our parent company. I'm forming single member LLC's (SMLLC) in different states where we own rentals. I've executed various operating agreements and merged some LLC's together for consolidation and cost savings. I just learned from a CPA that by doing this I can elect to either have the SMLLC file a seperate state tax return or file through the parent company. Depending on the year there can be savings either way.
Today I began to work on our corporate resolutions outlining resolutions on borrowing, real estate rules to which entity is entitled to ownership upon final pay off of the existing loans. My wife and I voted on amending the operating agreement to reflect our changes based on the resolutions in our living room.
Formed a new New Mexico SMLLC so that we could converted our TN LLC to a General Partnership. The GP then is owned by a SMLLC and the Parent Company satisfying TN's laws on GP's, and allowing us to avoid the $300 a year annual report and the 6.5% excise tax on the profits. The beauty is also that the IRS won't require a seperate tax return of the GP since the LLC was formed just to satisfy state laws and will treat the GP as a disregarded entity. In my spare time I read lots on asset protection, taxation, and corporate formalities.
Monday back to finishing my course on 21st Century Public Policy at Rio Salado College while I wait to hear from my lender on how many more properties we can finance. Depending on the outcome we might have a new division to form in Alabama. This would mean new operating agreements and corporate resolutions (fun).

Now how can I get the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) to treat me as one? I guess Corporate Taxation is one area where Occam's Razor (keep it simple) doesn't apply. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor
