Adriene, this thread is only followed to post how you did, what is new to know, and congratulations. You may want to repost this in the more general area.
As you know, your first goal will be to get off those cigaretts and get your health back, but it is always a good idea to try to substitute some type of activity to fill time and another way to keep busy. Some of us would find studying to be one of those items, others would say they cannot concentrate and need to be more physical. Only you know that.
If you wish to study you should look into the DSST subject test on Substance Abuse. Sometimes arming yourself with facts can empower you even more. Another suggestion, if you were not already aware of it, there were some law suits a few years back against the tobacco companies. If my memory is correct, a chemist came forward with some damaging evidence detailing to what extent the companies would go to make sure you were hooked and how it affected your brain. I can't remember the name of the man but he went on to have an internet site to try to disclose this information. One of the things I remember, is there was a genetically enhanced form of tobacco that they had developed that the government had been determined it was illegal to grow in the US. So they grow it in South America. They are allowed to import it, and they mix it with the other tobacco. It affects your brain chemistry - but more importantly, it affects your health.
But you already know that. Keep up the hard work!
