Adrienne,
Keep in mind the Peterson's are usually harder than the actual CLEP. Don't get discouraged if you don't score well on the practice tests. We usually shoot for just over 50% on a Peterson's to guage if we are ready for actual CLEP. Even knowing this, we still get frustrated after taking Peterson's. Then we give ourselves a pep talk and move on. They are worth taking, just keep them in perspective and don't let them mess with your mind!!!!

Hey guys,
How are you? So @ Gooberman11:
Thank you for the advice...I haven't even gotten to Peterson's yet and am getting a little discouraged. How did the psychology majors get past Cognition? Nothing on the Dome site even asked about Piaget's Stages of Development...Maybe I should stick to Instacert more. I need to dive into these flashcards...
Adrienne
ps- REA book is AWESOME!

Don't waste your time on the Dome site. Do this:
1. read the REA book
2. take the REA practice tests and look up what you don't understand or know
3. take the Peterson's practice tests
4. either take the real test or go through the flashcards

Search and look up what you're missing. If you missed anomie, use this search string in any search engine:
Wikipedia anomie
Actively seek out additional explanations of what you're missing.

Adrienne, I don't use the flashcards as they're laid out. I just click on each one and read the material I don't try to fill in the blanks, it is too frustrating and time consuming. I just read each card with the blanks filled in, much like targeted studying. I have done this for all my exams, so it goes faster. I would try a Petersen's exam. If you score over 50% on it you should be fine for the real exam. Don't panic, you can do this.

I'm sorry to say that the flashcards give people a false sense of "this is gonna be easy".
You need to lock yourself in a room and read that book. I read it on the plane back and forth to pennsylvania and read american government on the elliptical at the hotel while attending a wedding.
Its very interesting stuff, enjoy it but give your brain the time to digest the material. Read the whole book. You will learn it.
After you read the entire book, take practice test 1 until you get a 100% on it. Then do instant cert for a while, then hit up rea practice test 2.
Petersons should be the last thing you do in my opinion.
Good luck! Enjoy it!
