I am now married for a week and a day... Now I gotta worry about how to make up all my schoolwork since I took off for a week. I have 4 exams to make up, luckily my college let me take off
for those wondering, no we did not sign a prenup and thank God everything worked out well between my parents and husband :hurray:

Just out of curiousity... I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but how old are the two of you? (JMHO) but I think people should make it on their own and experience being an adult before they get married. Career, responsibilities, etc. The divorce rate is obviously through the roof but even higher the younger you are. I've had lots of friends that got married young, mountains of evidence why if they wanted to really have the best chance at being happy together they would wait, and the only 1 thing on the side why they should get married. "but we love each other so why wait!"... I do think there is a military benefit for the civilian spouse, but those are rare cases. Maybe your mom just wants you to postpone it for a while so you can find your own way and then when you are your own person you will be able to have a healthy adult relationship with someone else. (I'm not saying you're not now, but that might be what she's thinking?)
Having great potential just means you haven't done anything yet.
