If I fail a TECEP, can I use a CLEP?

Hello,
I completed the Modern States course and received a voucher for the Sociology CLEP. After registering for the CLEP, I realized that Sociology is also offered as a TECEP. Since I’ve been using TECEPs to fill as many RA credits as possible, I decided to register for the TECEP as well.

I scheduled both exams back-to-back this weekend. However, after doing some additional research, I feel well prepared for the CLEP but may not be as prepared for the TECEP.

My concern is that if I take and fail the TECEP, I may no longer be able to use the Sociology CLEP to fulfill the requirement. Does anyone know if failing the TECEP would prevent me from later using the CLEP for the same subject?

You can use the CLEP, provided that you are not over the limit for transfer credits.
