I want to enlist in the military
#11
Will they accept a FEMA transcript? I have heard that NYPD takes it (unconfirmed), perhaps the Army will as well. They are free and completing 15 could be done in a few days.

4-5 CLEP exams and 32 FEMA credits = an AAS Degree in Environmental Safety and Security Technologies Thomas Edison State College: Environmental, Safety & Security Technologies (plus TESC fee's of course).

I think the OP needs to refine the question so we can better answer it.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

If this is what the OP is referring to they will not only have to take CLEPS etc, butan actual course at a school this credit needs to be transcripted. I would suggest taking a 1 credit class at your local community college to save on money.

The advice to get a degree first isn't necessarily bad, just depends on why the OP is wanting to join as you can actually get up to an E4 upon enlistment for having a bachelors. Take a look at all your service options if you're looking to get the school benefits from the military all branches have the same federal benefits 4500 tuition assistance and GI bill but Army/Air National guard MAY have additional benefits because they are state funded. For instance Ohio offers $50,000 in student loan repayment and 100% tuition for a Bachelors at a state funded university.

If you have any questions please let me know.

My homeschooled son had difficulty getting into the Utah Army National Guard because Utah would not recognize his Wisconsin Homeschool diploma. However, he did have 20 hours of CLEP/DSST and community college credit. We set up a credit bank at Excelsior, had everything transcripted on it, and then he had no issue. 15 credits is typically the magic number:

$270 sets up the bank:

OneTranscript for credit consolidation - excelsior.edu

15 credits:

A&I CLEP - 74% pass rate among military members

College Comp Modular - 72% pass rate among military members

Technical Writing DSST - 84% pass rate among military members

The cost of the 3 exams will be around $100 each.

15 credits for under $600.
