I've waited long enough. I'm going to do this.
I've wanted to be a doctor for as long as I've known myself. I did well my first semester in college, but then I hit a rough patch and the GPA went RIGHT out the window.
Since I started taking classes again in my 30's I've gotten nothing but A's (with a B or two). My GPA is really looking nice again. Trouble is in order to make application for med school, I really need to add some letter graded tests/classes to my transcript ASAP. If I could add 45-60 credits worth of A's and B's to my transcript, I'd be in a much better position.
It looks like I procrastinated too long and now a few of the DSSTs are no longer letter graded (at Excelsior).
So I'm trying to establish my testing line up for the new year. I need test that will give me letter grades on a transcript. My tentative deadline is August 2010.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

The only tests I can think of off the top of my head that are letter graded (besides the non-refreshed DSSTs that still use the 2 digit scale) are going to be ECEs from Excelsior.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.
Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

You can take classes/courses from a variety of sources - LSU, PFC, UA, etc. and have the letter graded results transferred to EC.

You may be able to get rid of some grades at Excelsior. Talk to your advisor about it. I've been emailing them about this process, and my understanding is you have 30 days to get rid of certain classes before they permanently appear on your transcripts. That should help your GPA.
You'll want to check for updates, but to my knowledge, the following DSST tests give you letter grades. You can fill all of your electives with these.
DSST - A History of the Vietnam War
DSST - Art of the Western World
DSST - Astronomy
DSST - Business Law II
DSST - Environment and Humanity
DSST - Foundations of Education
DSST - Fundamentals of Counseling
DSST - General Anthropology
DSST - Human / Cultural Geography
DSST - Human Resource Management
DSST - Introduction to Law Enforcement
DSST - Introduction to the Modern Middle East
DSST - Lifespan Developmental Psychology
DSST - Management Information Systems
DSST - Money and Banking
DSST - Organizational Behavior
DSST - Physical Geology SF519
DSST - Principles of Financial Accounting
DSST - Principles of Physical Science I
DSST - Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union
DSST - Substance Abuse
DSST - Technical Writing
DSST - The Civil War and Reconstruction
DSST - Western Europe Since 1945
75 credits in four months using InstantCert.
B.S. Liberal Arts, Excelsior College,

Plus, one Washington Post blurb
here.

Thank you. I will check these out. It is most important that I not waste time repeating classes. Repeats are averaged by AMCAS (the medical school application folks).
Did you have to ask PFC and EC to list the course as a letter grade or was it automatic?

Thank you for this list. I was compiling one and this will help.
The AMCAS (American College Application Service) requires you submit a transcript from every college you ever attended. They calculate a new GPA that is submitted to the medical schools you are applying to through their service based on ALL your transcripts. They do a detailed background check. If you hide or omit transcripts you get tossed and may never have a chance to apply to a US med school again.
I wish I could "purge" those old grades, but alas, no chance. I do have a strong "upward trend" of all A's though so I'm not worried. I just know that 40-60 credit hours more of A's on a transcript would make all the difference. If I could find some Biology, Math, Physics and Math courses to add for letter grade credit I'd feel more comfortable.
