I'm getting TIRED of studying biology....
#11
Say a prayer for me...my test is tomorrow morning and I didn't do so hot on the Official CLEP practice test. Scored just 6 questions about the 50% mark. Yikes. I've spent the last 2-3 hours reviewing every wrong question and looking up unfamiliar terms and making flashcards for myself, so hopefully that'll help. I figured out a few gaps I still had and that helped.

I think I can pass, but I hate doing a test and feeling like I'm guessing the whole time. I've done that before and passed, but it's still disconcerting. Big Grin

Stay tuned........

Yay! I passed with a 69! That really surprised me. My extremes of pessimism and optimism had put me at either flunking or something in the very low 60s, but I did not expect this!

I found my actual test to be easier than the CLEP practice test. Weird.

A study suggestion for doing this exam in a short amount of time (I only took two weeks):

I used:

SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides for detailed stuff
IC for basic explanations and review, doing each section only once (a few twice...would have been good to do more)
Read the REA book and did all 3 practice exams and reviewed the answers
Did the CLEP practice test and looked up every unfamiliar term online
Made flashcards for myself. I spent 3-4 hours making flashcards of terms and concepts that were new to me, from cell parts to ecology to the different parts of the brain (and yes, you need to know that).

I think I lucked out a little (thanks, Lord for answering all those prayers!) because some of the stuff I was really poor at wasn't on the test and some of the easier stuff was, but still, a person should be able to pull a passing score using the resources I used.

Thanks for your encouragement everyone! I'm tickled to death to have 6 more credits!
