I am trying to figure out when I can consider myself "ready" to take the College Mathematics CLEP. What I want to know is whether there is a range of scores I should look for when doing the IC FlashCards to feel that I have a good chance of passing the test. I havent a lot of $$ or time, for that matter to look into other testing prep companies, and I signed up to IC as I had heard good things.
Can someone please help with this concern?

Search this site for the free peterson practice test. Usually if you can get at least 60% on the Petersons you are ready for the real thing.

I agree with Linda. And when you take them, take them CLOSED BOOK and use your desktop calculator. Make it as close to the real thing as possible.
Lastly, never retake a test. Use a practice test only once.

Don't take the College Mathematics CLEP - take an ALEKS.com course instead. They cost less, and, if your school accepts ACE credits (same type offered through CLEP), it should work (though it wouldn't hurt to be safe and check with the school first - I know Thomas Edison does accept them).
With Aleks, you can work on it till you get 70% or higher on your assessment (helpful if your not sure if college mathematics is a pass or not).

You can do both. No ALEKS course duplicates College Math, so unless your school restricts 100 level math within an undergrad degree, you can do both!

I found the clep to be pretty easy with very little study, so it may depend on previous knowledge if ALEKS or the clep is better.
Jenifer: Doesn't begginer algebra aleks duplicate 3 credits from college math? College math is on my evaluation as mat 102 and 103. I didn't do begginer algebra b/c I thought it also counted as 102.
