I passed the Management and Marketing CLEPs with InstantCert. I am grateful for that. I took the Business Law CLEP and failed badly....36....
I don't know what happened but it was like I wasn't focused...The one thing I did differently from the other test was eat like 20 minutes before.... Maybe I shouldn't have eaten immediately before a test...Does anyone know?
Now I am thinking American Literature or British Literature CLEP...I have the option of taking the CLEP test or going to class every Saturday morning for the American Literature class....All I need is just a 50 for a "Passed" on my transcript...Any advice for me getting back on track?

Sorry about your exam, but many of us have failed and realize just how you feel.
As for your next choice (IMHO) American Lit may be a better choice (just seems easier to grasp). Perhaps you may wish to consider other study resources (see below), study longer, and prepare with some Petersons practice exams.
Good Luck!!

Sorry about your failing. I am very proud of you for the simple fact that you are quickly dusting yourself off and moving forward. That's what makes it all worth it because in the end you are still shining!!! I can't give you advice on those exams because I have no experience with them. Good Luck and let us know how you do!!!!

I just barely passed one exam when my blood sugar was off. It was very hard to pay attention and I rushed through it. Now I try to get a balanced mix of good carbs and proteins a couple hours before a big test and it seems to help.
Good luck on your next exams. I would take the CLEP over the class, personally. I took all of my English the traditional way and I wish I had known about testing back then! Better for the GPA-- and no biased professors.

I ended up failing Business law too a few months back. If you were like ME - you probably heard reports that this test wasn't that[I] hard... and therefore didn't really study. The Business law test isn't like the management and marketing tests. :o Oh well - we'll both pass it next time!!

Sorry to hear that you didn't pass. That's always disappointing, but it sounds like you're keeping it in perspective and simply keeping your head up. Great job...keep it up & don't give up.

Did you try all three of them all on the same day? That might have been the problem. I did 3 in one day several months back- but only 1 was new material to me, 1 was a review + a little new info, and the last was a gimmie of very comfy territory. Even still, my brain was FRIED afterward.
My failed test was Civil War earlier this summer. It took me 2 "passes" after that to feel like I was back to my old self. I really felt VERY nervous both times- which I normally don't feel much more than mild anxiousness.
I doubt eating caused your failure, however, I would avoid it next time- if only for the psychological effect!!

In my opinion, it is more efficient to fail a test that you were a little under-prepared for than to continually go overboard over-preparing for exams. Granted, you'll learn more by over-preparing. But, getting your degree doesn't mean that you have to stop learning.
good job pressing forward!
