Edit Reason: More Info!
)
Hi guys. I got some bad news today and need to know if anyone can help. I have an Associates in Applied Science: Radiography (Virginia Western Community College). I transferred and am in school currently for my Bachelors in Healthcare Administration at Radford University (Carilion). I was supposed to graduate this May, as I’m in my last semester of the program, but the head of my program just emailed today and said I can’t graduate until I take 26 more credits of any class type because they missed that I didn’t have the 120 required credits to graduate with a BS. I finished my degree but because most of my Associates classes didn’t transfer over, I got no credit for them. (Something to do with my degree being an “applied” degree?)
Is there anything I can do? Worst comes to worst I take 26 credits this summer at Radford online. There is an option for short 5 week summer classes - if they allow me to take 5 classes for the first 5 weeks and 4 classes for the last 5 weeks of summer I will do it. (3 credits per class)
(I take 5 classes a semester and work 30h a week.
24y/o. Radford University. Good standings, 4.0 GPA. Sorry I didn’t have enough info last time!)

You'd need to provide a lot more info for anyone to be able to offer assistance or advice. What school are you attending, which courses do you still need to complete, which courses have you already completed that didn't transfer in, etc. Seems odd that your transfer credits weren't already evaluated when you started the current program. Did you change majors after admission or something.

@jesssem, Welcome to the board! That's actually great news you got today, instead of at the time of graduation! Good news indeed, as now you know what you have and what you're missing... The bad news is, you've only given us a piece of the puzzle, where are the rest of the details? You may have missed the entire addendum and template in a sticky post above yours. With a bigger and greater overview of your situation, we'll know what scenario you're in and can provide better advice, we can lead you in the direction and on your way to completing the remaining credits. We don't know what institution you're working with, please update us with the info asked for here, both the addendum and template: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

Hi! Thanks for your response. Sorry for the lack of info, it was my first post ever! It’s edited now. But, all of my courses for the Healthcare Admin BS are complete (or about to be this May). The 26 credits I have left would just be for any class I can manage to take which I guess is a good thing, but I don’t want to delay my graduation by 2 extra semesters because of my need for random classes I don’t need. The classes that didn’t transfer are all Radiology classes - like radiation protection, anatomy/physiology, physics, etc. but they’re named different umbrella terms like “RAD111, RAD121 etc” so I think that is my downfall in transferring with that degree.
Classes are 3 credits, need 26 to graduate, but my Major is complete.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry I missed some information in my first post. I am posting from my phone so I’m not sure if I missed the sticky post or just can’t see it because of mobile format. I edited it with more information, I hope it helps!

It would have been better if you were on the computer, say your laptop or desktop, as the info is just too short and simple, it's not got all the info I would have liked, as we don't know what the '26 credits' are supposed to be in, even though you say 'anything'. If that's the case, my suggestion is to take all the CLEP/MS you can for FREE in the next semester if you can't complete them this semester. Take the CLEPS they accept, 27 credits worth from their webpage here: https://catalog.radford.edu/content.php?...am_Program

That is perfect!!! I had no idea Radford had those tests to take. I wouldn’t have had any idea how to look that up or find it! Thank you so much, I really appreciate you and your help! If I have to post again, it’ll definitely be from a computer so it’s correct : thank you once again!

No problem, check the WIKI here for other cheapies/freebies as long as your institution accepts them, I would only work with the CLEP/MS option for now. Use ModernStates to get the voucher and reimbursement for the exams. Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Fr..._of_Credit

I would double check exactly what credits you need. 26 free elective credits are a lot to have available in a degree program. Not impossibly high, but high. You don't want any more surprises.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)
