Well all ..after failing the clep in college math...I now have to find a 3 credit math to take asap..and it must be easy, as I have demonstrated a very noticeable lack of current math ability beyond the basics..and I project the dsst astronomy course as my science. So Iam open to ideas and insights as I need to get 3 math and science courses done quickly and inexpensively. Help y'all ..please! Ron:o

I am going to take Excelsior's college math class this upcoming term as it seems on my level.
I also took Astronomy this past week, it wasn't too bad, but I only studied briefly the night before, I don't know if I'll pass or not, but it isn't too bad if you learn everything that is on Spark Notes.

What resource did you use and can you pass along alittle insight to the test? Much appreciated.

I just finished Excelsior's College math. it was very easy. Basic math, fractions, percentages, very basic probablility and statistics. I would highly recommend it for the math credit and I believe TESC accepts it, but double check just to be sure.

Pavlc,
Was your math course at Excelsior a standard length semester?
Thanks much.

fiveninerzero,
All you used was Spark Notes for Astronomy? How many questions was it and did you take the electronic version?

It was 16 weeks long. Standard length. I would have preferred a shorter term (I am used to 8 week terms) but I am no math expert and found that the 16 week format worked pretty well for math because it would be one chapter and quiz a week. One week was the midterm and one was the final, so 14 chapters total.
A very easy math credit if you do the practice questions. I would do them each sunday and take the quiz that night.

It was pretty much spot on with what I found on this forum by searching for "Astronomy." I have sort of forgotten what exactly was on the test, I would have elaborated that day, but I was in a hurry.
I used Spark Notes Astronomy webiste, it was pretty good, but there were some questions about the universe that SN didn't cover, about galaxies and the like.
Astronomy is a pretty straightfoward exam, but I should have studied a little more, however, it doesn't screw with your head like most science and math.

I was looking for something else and came across Astronomy on the CollegeCram.com website. Can't vouch for how good it is, just saw it and thought I'd pass this on. Just payin' it forward.
