HI everyone,

I am a student from Italy and I am currently working toward my degree (BS in Business, general administration)with excelsior. I got an AA from a US university way back in 2005, but since I had no more money to pursue my bachelor I had to go back to Italy. Now I am working, but all these years I just had this thing that "I have to finish my bachelor, no matter what". And I found Excelsior. I have been giving exams since octobar -Org. B, Labor Relations, World Population and Spanish, all ECE exams- and on the 3rd of March I will be starting the capstone. ANd it freightens me. I have been reading all there is to read about this course, and I have been preparing by reading the player's guide for the bsg simulation, been reading the book, apa formatting (writing papers is not my forte) etc etc...
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

I have taken TECH-495 (Technology stream) from EC. I had fear when I started my capstone. My professor was very nice and explained me about the Capstone course. He has office hours every Wednesday and the chat sessions I had with him really helped me to prepare a decent Capstone report. I got Grade A in this course. There are 6 outcomes for which the students have to come up with learning statements and evidences. I was able to do very well with the help of my professor.

Thanks for sharing your fears and worries, We will all face the capstone at some point. I have to do about 60 credits before I get there but I dread the situation. I haven't read any of the items you mentioned but if you post them here then others will be able to read the resources you've already had. As far as I can deduce it is a way of using the information that you have accomplished in previous courses. Since you are an EC student you should take time to familiarize yourself with OWL and practice the steps as you go. Locating Information & Writing with Sources This will help you take the steps in planning you will need to do papers. Also within EC there is a resource called smarthinking were you can submit your essays for review with specific questions its a FREE service so make sure you access it through Excelsior College. This should make you more proficient in writing papers in the APA format. Tips from an Online Writing Instructor Take a deep breath, you've come so far which proves you know the subjects. Keep your books close by so that you can refer to them. I recently discovered Citefast automatically formats citations: APA 6th edition, MLA 7th ed. and Chicago 16th ed. which helps me cite source documents reasonable well.

Have you reviewed the free syllabus here: https://my.excelsior.edu/web/syllabus-li...BUS495_8wk This explains the workload and textbooks you'll need. It is only a "sample" but so far every "sample" I've read is exactly like the one I had for the actual course.
It appears that there are only two case studies which count toward the final grade which means your writing papers will be limited to those two case studies which isn't bad.
