It's not the end of the world, but at this point I feel I will try out Empire State College SUNY, instead. I'm a NY resident and they accept all credits as well. Had no idea. I hope I can find some information on here about EC-SUNY.
Wow, how were you misled? This has been discussed over and over and over again. Even in my own comments to you just recently in another thread that I thought, by your own admission, you understood. http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...ploma.html. Some of this stuff can get very confusing but I'm sure you will be much happier at SUNY. Good luck!

Quote:What You Can Study
For students seeking an associate or bachelor's degree, we offer 11 broad areas of study within which you can design a concentration (similar to a major). Your faculty mentor will work with you to ensure your concentration meets your educational goals.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but ESC also only offers concentrations.

You choose a concentration within one of the broad areas of study. Actually, you can pretty much just make up a concentration within an area of study. From the pictures I've seen, an ESC degree will just say Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts. I believe your transcript will say something like, "B.S. in business, management, and economics with a concentration in human resource management," or, "B.A. in social theory, social structure, and change with a concentration in criminology." To me, those titles are even more confusing than what you would get at TESC or COSC. Or how about this? "B.A. in arts with a concentration in arts," which would read out as a, "Bachelor of Arts in arts with a concentration in arts."

You also have to be careful when transferring credits. Even though ESC is on the semester system, their courses are either 2 credits or 4 credits and they will transfer in some of the courses taken at another school as 3 credits or 1, 2, 4, or 8. You're also required to take at least 32 credits at ESC which can be online courses or at one of their regional campuses. The links have similar titles, but they are different.

Do you know how ESC courses will transfer to say TESC or COSC? I too noticed that most of their courses are 4 credits...

I realize that EC-SUNY just offers concentrations, but I live in NYC and it's still a SUNY, so it's worth it to try it out if I wouldn't be earning an actual "major", per se, at TESC. I've gone on sooo many interviews and many recruiters have loved me, but they said the ONLY thing they are going to have to press, with their clients, is that I do not have a Bachelors degree completed. They don't even care WHAT kind of degree. They just want you to have a Bachelors. I know people who are making $27/hr through my agency (some a lot more) that are within a few years of my age and they have a Bachelors of Art, flat out. I think I'm going to research EC and figure out what the easiest degree is. Sounds bad, but again, I have 80.5 credits and if employers are this nitpicky, then I just need to be able to slap a darn Bachelors on my resume.
Haha, while we're at it, have any of you heard of those diploma mills, etc.? I could technically do that as well! LOL. It's a degree. They don't specify what time or what school and I must also mention, you guys are right, employers don't care if you finish it online. In fact, most assumed I was completing my TESC online and I told them I was. They didn't seem phased by it at all.

I wonder why this comment does not surprise me? I guess if I purchased a wig and someone asked me if it was my hair, I could say yes, because I paid for it. Why not try it and see what happens when they do the background check.:leaving:

Geesh, take it easy. It was just a joke, although it does seem that employers couldn't care the least bit where your degree came from and how you earned it. It's not something for you to get too upset about! Again..a joke..I kid I kid..! hilarious

CS7 why would you think I was upset? I did not think my response had an upset tone, actually I find you amusing. Maybe itâs your funny personality. Again, good luck in completing your degree, somewhere.
