I was so excited I came home and knocked off 3 FEMA (failed one, but that was my cushion). So I will request my FEMA transcript and send in my application for graduation tomorrow. 38 Years 3 kids 2 husbands and I am finally done. I will write more when I have more time.
THANK YOU
to all the great people on this forum who have helped cajoled and encouraged me through this.
EDIT: I just wanted to add a little encouragement to those that come after me. I started college/Nursing School the September 72 after High School I was already married and my husband's company had gone on strike 2 days after our February wedding. My life was in turmoil and stress. I only made it through 1 year and my grades were poor I even got an F in Microbiology. So I Quit. I was going to take LPN training and was admitted to a course starting Sept 74, but by that time I was pregnant and expecting in Oct 74 so I didn't go back. Flash ahead to SEPT 1976 I am a single working mother and I decide to go back to CC for an Associates in Chemistry. I take 1 General Chem course I get an A, but trying to juggle, fulltime work a 2 year old and a social life are too much I quit again. Now Flash forward to 1984 I am a new wife still working full time and I have a 10 year old. I go back to CC one more time for my Chemistry degree. I did great manage to earn 30 credits and had a 3.5 GPA. Then I got pregnant, lost my job found a new one and Quit again. Over the next ~20 years I looked into CLEP and returning to college, but now I had 3 kids and a husband who traveled a lot and it just looked to hard, so I Quit. Finally in 2006 when my baby was a Junior in High school I got up the nerve to try one more time. I enrolled in TESC took my first TECEP and was on my way. Once I found this forum in 2007 it just got better and better. My original Plan was just to earn my AA and to have it before my sons One a junior and one a senior in high school. I put in my application for graduation with my AA on June 13th 2008 the same day my baby graduated from high School. That same day I enrolled for my BA from TESC. At this point both of my sons have dropped out of college, but I would not quit this time. In January of 2010 I realized if I did not finish my requirements in time for the July 1st cutoff I would not be able to walk in a graduation ceremony until October 2011. So I made a plann and set my goal to be done by June . 29 credits in 5 months while working almost fulltime as a substitute and fulltime since April. What I am saying is If I can do this at 56 years old with all kinds of family turmoil ANYONE CAN. DO NOT QUIT NEVER GIVE UP YOUR DREAMS
