Thanks (01-06-2021, 09:30 PM)LadySearchDog Wrote: Guessing Coursera is not one of those places to get credit? That may depend on what degree you are trying to attain? What major you are trying to accomplish? It is always best to ask your institution. That said, I do not see Thomas Edison listed anywhere on their website. However, some colleges are?? I see some things are accredited and some are not? I am not sure what accreditation they use though because there are different kinds? I found this list of partners. https://www.coursera.org/about/partners?...Fvqlf9oIMk

Well there's literal degrees you can get from RA universities on coursera. There's also the Google IT support cert which is worth 12 ACE credits and used for some college programs. Other than that, no not really, unless there's a specific class or partnership through a college you're attending.

However, a handful of specific Coursera courses can be used for credit at partner schools. Options for college credit generally fall into the following categories: credit by exam (CLEP, TECEP, UExcel, etc.), ACE-accredited course providers (Study.com, StraighterLine, Sophia, etc.), online colleges, and local colleges. The best options are generally self-paced competency-based course providers where you can move through courses at your own speed and that don't charge large per-credit fees. The goal is to come in around $33 per credit on average.

To clarify: The Google IT Support certificate is worth 12 credits officially but TESU unfortunately only brings it in as 3 credits. It's a lot of work for just 3 credits, though it can theoretically be done in a month or less so the monetary cost is okay.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA Completed: Pierpont - AAS BOG Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses) ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210
edX has two. One still under review by TESU.
1. MicroBachelors Program in Computer Science Fundamentals (COS-104 at TESU) for $450 2. MicroBachelors Program in Programming & Data Structures (Under review, could be COS-241) for $1195.2 These are for ACE credits so it's costly. You can do for much much less at Study.com.

Edx has 8 of their micro bachelors courses with 5-6 being approved by TESU(the rest still being evaluated) https://www.tesu.edu/degree-completion/edx-credit They are not ACE credits. They are costly, though there is financial aid if you qualify.
