Ok I called the 1800 number off
http://www.getcollegecredit.com last week and spoke to a man named Edmond. I asked him a ton of questions. I asked a lot of questions at my testing center. This is what I found out about grading proceedures.
1. Your testing center sends your test 2nd day air to Florida.
2. DSST grading center is in Pensecola, FL.
3. All grading is started Tuesday morning by a woman named Sally or Lucy (can't remember).
4. If they are backed up grading will continue on to Wed.
5. You can pay $20.00 for a hand graded score and they will call your schools academic advisor with your grade.
6. You can pay $25.00 for next day Fed Ex and they will send your grade to your school.
I made 63 on my Drugs and Alcohol test by studying Instant Certa and recomended book from my school library and the drug classification chart.

I don't think this information is correct. I too spoke with a rep from DSST earlier in the week and tests are graded on Tuesday and Thursday. However, the tests are sent to New Jersey for grading not Florida. I monitor my tests delivery via the UPS tracking number and each one has been sent to NJ.

I too, called the 1-800 number to inquire how I could obtain my test results sooner than the 14+ days it seems to take. In fact, I talked to Sally Homa today, she told me, as chet36 has stated. She could handgrade the test and call the school with results for $20. I called my academic advisor to see if she was okay with this method -- she was not. Also, does the school receive a hardcopy at some point if your scores are called in? I would think they would need a copy for their records. I suppose I will have to opt for paying the $25.
By the way, does anyone know what website I can go to if I want to take a mock DSST test? I am taking the Drug/Alcohol Abuse test on Saturday, 05/27/06. I have been studying my IC flashcards, the D/A abuse chart and I have a couple of websites I am going to check out as well. If you have information on a website that actually offers a mock test I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

I spoke with Sally today as well. I monitored my test via UPS and it arrived today. I wanted to make sure that it was graded ASAP; it turns out that they would not be grading again until Wednesday!!! I had filled out my form to request the FEDEX rush delivery for the extra $25 but this would only rush after the test was graded. I decided to instead pay $20 for the hand grading and have my results (actually just a pass/fail) called into my university. Even when paying extra they cannot give the results to the student, only to the university! Anyway, I just needed to know if I passed in order to determine if I would need to register for a class this summer. Thankfully I passed and only have 1 class left to graduate....hopefully I pass the Civil War. While the university does not accept a phone call as adequate data for the transcript, they will still send the normal test results.

May I infer that you can get your results over the phone and not play the extended version of the waiting game?????

If you request the hand score for $20 Sally from DSST will call the POC from your university that you provide and tell them wheter you passed or failed the test.

Thanks for the information! Heck! I was just in Pensocola last week, too bad I could have stopped in to see Sally or whatever her name is! Ha Ha hilarious I guess I will just sit tight and wait. I took the test June 14, so hopefully I will hear soon!
Thanks again,
Anniemarie
