I think I paid $250-$275 for one and $325 for the other. $95 is the discount rate for an ECE test meant to drum up business.

Well, as I said, the vast majority of them are $95. I've never seen individual prices fluctuate, but then again, I've only purchased 6 (all $95) and I've only been enrolled for 4 months.

That's good to know. There were only a couple of ECEs that I was looking at taking--both were more like $395 or something. I didn't know there were any $95 exams.

They changed the prices down about six months ago. The exams offered relate to core degree areas at Excelsior and transfer in at upper level with letter Grade in place of a particular course if you attend Excelsior. As far as I can remember you have at least two attempts at the test until you pass. Since Excelsior is a nursing school and has thousands of military students the exam prices are a bit hefty but even if a few of the 38,000 students sign up for the test it turns out profitable for them. They are now administered by Prometric so you go to the same center you would take your DSST as far as I remember.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum :

Not unless it changed in the last couple weeks. Pearson Vue is the only place I know of to take it. It'd be a big problem for me if that changed...
