I'm going to take the Biology test next Friday (October 2) but I feel horribly unprepared... I just started InstantCert, although I have a pretty good High School background in biology. What do you recommend I do to be prepared? I plan on taking the Peterson's practice tests.
Thanks...

Welcome to the forum!
I am currently studying for this, too. I am using 2 books - REA and Biology Smart. I like them both.
I am sure you will get more ideas that will be helpful to both of us.
Best wishes on your exam!

REA was a great resource. I also found Standard Deviants to be extremely helpful.
Good luck.

I used the REA book as my main resource and then IC toward the end. Had not taken a Bio class in 20 years and passed.
I did study hard and made hundreds of flash cards.

I was planning on taking the Bio CLEP next. I have the REA Biology and it's very well laid out and easy to understand. I don't think its comprehensive enough from the other forums I've read. So I purchased a Bio textbook (by Jane B. Reece), which is also very good, but seems like way too much info. I'm trying to find a happy medium.
let me know what works for you and if you pass!
Good Luck!

Thanks guys for all of your suggestions. I'm not actually sure if I'll take the test next Friday or wait longer, although I have been reviewing and studying very hard.

Is it worth paying for the REA books?

It depends on the test...definitely don't pay full price; try to find them on eBay, half.com, or Amazon.

If you already have a recent background studying it great. i used the Instant cert cards. I got through all of them. however, had I had more time my score might have been higher. Get through all the cards and explanations prior to the test, bar none.
