I heard about IC on my schools forum at American Military University. I wish I would've heard sooner about clep and dsst testing!!! I only have one course that I can CLEP/DSST out of which is principals of statistics to get my BA, I sure hope I pass, I'll take it the last week of FEB wish me Luck!
Does CLEP/DSST offers exams for upperlevel courses (such as for a Masters degree?)

I found Instantcert on the degreeinfo.com forums. I'd never even heard of testing out until I found that forum, even after years of classes at a university campus with a testing center.

I heard about it from my friend, who uses it.
I'm using it because I would rather not sit through 2 years of boring classes at a college.
I have no educational talents.

I just want to get to know more people on this board & what various skills/talents you all have, etc.
Is that wrong?

I read about Instantcert in a CLEP study guide review on Amazon.com. The reviewer claimed to have used a particular book in combination with the "Instantcert flashcards" to have gotten high scores on several exams I was interested in taking. At first I thought it was just a shameless plug, cheap (free) advertising and probably a scam. I went back to IC several times lurking on the forums for a while before joining and then subscribing to the service. Now I'm a believer, with 45 college credits under my belt this summer while still taking whole weeks off from studying and testing I can't be anything but a faithful IC supporter. IC has shaved over a year off my degree plans.
I have 18 traditional credits and 51 exam credits. I've passed Introductory Sociology 76, Introductory Psychology 68, A&I Literature 66, Principles of Marketing 76, Introductory Business Law 71, Social Sciences & History 67, DSST Drug & Alcohol Abuse 450, Biology 69, Principles of Management 70, Natural Sciences 64, Intro to Business DSST 70, Principles of Macroeconomics 67, Principles of Microeconomics 58.

Lets just say I have tried all the traditional means of obtaining a higher level of certification and did not succeed, therefore in my search to identify a more suitable manner of achieving my goal, just like that I was told about Instant Cert totally unaware of what it was about. I am still learning the ropes.

I found Instantcert on the degreeinfo.com forums. I was told about testing out by a neighbor years ago and had no reason to do it then. Now I am doing it and I am also helping stir other people in the direction of testing out as a great option to main stream classes and using it as a cost saving measure to achieve one's dream. I also help people achieve there high school diplomas and we use alot of the clep, dante, and Fema exam to get some of these classes done. So these students get high school done and they are able to work on college at the same time.
Testing is a wonderful solution for alot of people.

I found out through my mom, who is great at researching all of the options.
By nature, I do not prefer being like everybody else. (What? I don't have to spend 4 or more years and $80,000 on a BA?
) The natural allure of getting the same quality education as from a tradition college for
way less money and in far less time was too much.
The annoying thing is when people have no clue what you're talking about. But, I have learned. When they say, "And you off to college?" I say, "We're exploring all the options" or something of a similarly cryptic nature. Once I get further into my degree (i.e. by the time I graduate from highschool), I will probably make greater efforts to describe this fine method to the greater masses...
Regardless, IC has served me well for my two CLEP tests. It's a wonderful tool.
