How can nutritional science be made more accurate?

My original assumption was correct. The problem isn't the media and people spreading myths. The media is often reporting on research findings. The problem is the studies themselves. These scientific studies are often contradictory and nutritional science, as a whole, is imprecise. Many of the studies use poor methodologies; sometimes, it's impossible to use good methodologies. The articles linked to below repeat what I said earlier. Nutritional science, like the social sciences, is complex because of an infinite number of variations between humans. It's not like studying bacteria in a Petri dish; most studies can't be conducted in a controlled environment.
